The Free Speech Union said the Constitution needed to protect all Australians, regardless of what political movement they belonged to.

Michael Nelson's T shirt has cost the tax payer at least $10,500. This is the minimum cost per person of putting someone in prison in Australia in 2026 for 21 days. Of course, there is also the cost of the salary of the magistrate, prosecution, legal aid and court officials to consider for even bringing this matter to trial.

By the time all of these prosecutions against Nationalists over the last few years are totalled up it could be as high as $6 million. Surely that's a bit much mate!
