Funimation is officially shutting down their streaming platform and transferring user subscriptions to the Crunchyroll platform with users being made to pay higher subscriptions once their accounts are transferred. You'll also be losing access to any digital copies you purchased from the Funimation platform as Crunchyroll doesn't support it.

This is now prompting people to preemptively cancel their subscriptions in droves and go back to piracy on the anime end of things as, obviously, no one wants to be forced to pay a higher subscription plan to get the same library on a worse streaming platform and have all of their digital purchases, that can potentially range in the hundreds or more, confiscated from them.

This is just another example that If purchasing a digital good isn't owning it then piracy isn't theft
And
If pirating gives you a better service than paying for a service then that service deserves the piracy
