Some would call me a homosexual for finding "masculine" women attractive, but these people ignore that human neoteny is quite new in fact. These same people are usually advocates of "going back" (but not "too far", of course), ironically enough.
And so they do go back to the aristocratic conception of femininity, in which women are fragile and docile, child-like in essence, and then want them to be proactive and responsible wives; the contradiction is plain to see.
This all happens, I feel like, because they think of this rich-people ideal of a woman and put her in a peasant life, and call that the idyllic past, not realising that peasant women of the past were "masculine" in attitudes, and even in looks farther back in time.
And why say "masculine" in quotes? Because what people should instead say is adult. I want a strong, adult woman. Enough with this false dichotomy. Most "masculine" traits are just being a grown up person, and most "feminine" ones are being a child. Simple as.
