🇨🇿 Czech Republic: Orthodox Church becomes second largest confession in the country

— "Though Orthodoxy has an ancient history in the Czech Republic, Catholicism is by far the dominant religion there today. However, in 2021, the Orthodox Church grew enough there to become the second largest confession in the country.

According to the results of the 2021 census, the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia numbers 40,681 faithful in the Czech Republic. It has thus become larger than the Czech-Fraternal Evangelical Church (32,577) and the Czechoslovak Hussite Church (23,610), which held the second and third positions until this year.

Another 497 people identify as parishioners of the Moscow Patriarchate’s representation church in Karlovy Vary."

🇲🇩 Church of Moldova reports political pressure

— "The Orthodox Church of Moldova declared that the attempts of political interference in the affairs of the Church are inadmissible, according to the official website of the Chisinau-Moldova Metropolis.

The corresponding statement was made in response to the rhetoric of the deputy of the Moldovan parliament from the ruling Action and Solidarity Party, Oazu Nantoi. He demanded that the Chisinau-Moldavian Metropolis of the Russian Orthodox Church express its position on Ukraine and Transnistria, EADaily reports.

“Today is the time to prove that the Metropolis of Moldova supports the people of the Republic of Moldova, that it belongs to the Republic of Moldova and is not an ideological fiefdom of the Russian Orthodox Church,” Nantoi said."

🇺🇦 The largest Orthodox school in Ukraine to open in Kiev

— "The first Ukrainian Orthodox school “Trinity” will open in Kyiv on September 1, 2022. Here, children from Orthodox families will receive a fundamental basic education from grades 1 to 9, and in the future, from grades 1 to 12, as reported on the website of the school.

The educational institution was founded by initiative Orthodox Christians with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry. The aim of the school is to combine the methods of classical pedagogic scholars, such as K.D. Ushinsky, V.A. Sukhomlinsky, A.S. Makarenko, with the newest psychological and pedagogic technologies, and at the same time create a comfortable family atmosphere in the school. The educational complex consists of the school, which is located in the Solomenskiy district of Kyiv in a separate building with an area of 5 000 square meters, the Orthodox kindergarten and the own holiday camp near Kyiv."

If enough people start switching jurisdictions and GOARCH as a consequence begins to sink below the other Orthodox churches in America in terms of attendance and general influence then they might start to listen to our demands. At the very least, it would be wise to withdraw your donations.

Even if GOARCH doesn't care about defending the True Faith, they don't want to lose their geopolitical influence or their tight grip on the Greek American diaspora. Nor do they want to lose their funding.

Of course, if you have a faithful and traditional priest in GOARCH then ignore this advice. Same for those living in an area where there's no other parishes in close proximity. But everyone else needs to start heading for the exit door and find an Orthodox jurisdiction which doesn't tolerate leadership which supports genociding unborn babies.

If you stay or leave, you should let your priest know so he can relay the feedback.

“Father, after what the Archbishop said, I can no longer remain in GOARCH in good conscience”

Or

“Father, although the Archbishop’s words made me consider leaving GOARCH, I am staying for [enter reason], but I will no longer be contributing money to any activity outside this parish”

This is important if we want a response.

I don't like to encourage jurisdiction-switching, but I think it is appropriate here. GOARCH has made it clear that it considers itself immune to public outcry against the un-Orthodox behavior of its leadership, and this won't change until enough people vote with their feet that it can no longer claim with any credibility to be the face of American Orthodoxy.

🇲🇪 Montenegrin Metropolis of the Serbian Orthodox Church: We won’t support the return of godless power

— "The Montenegin-Littoral Metropolis of the Serbian Orthodox Church stated that it does not participate in the political processes for the formation of a new government in Montenegro but will not support the return to power of representatives of the godless regime of President Milo Đukanović, who restricted the religious rights and freedoms of the canonical Church, reports the Metropolis on its official website.

With its statement, the Montenegrin-Littoral Metropolis denied the rumours spread in the country about the alleged support of Metropolitan Ioanniky for the formation of a minority government headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović. At the same time, it is noted that the hierarch of the Serbian Church appreciates the victory in the 2020 elections over the godless regime."
