The Russian flag is flying near the monument to the fallen Soviet soldiers in Brussels — the Belgians hung it on their own initiative. Our ambassador and Acting Permanent Representative to the EU laid flowers at the burial site for Soviet citizens.
More than 700 people took part in the march in Beijing. Three cheers sounded on the streets of Uzbekistan, and in Berlin, citizens lined up in long queues at the monument to the Soviet Soldier-liberator in Treptov Park.
In Mongolia and Kazakhstan, at the action of the "Immortal Regiment", people carried posters and portraits of those who died during the Second World War. In Slovakia, white doves were released into the sky in memory of the fallen soldiers.

Lieutenant Colonel of Medical Service of the Russian Federation Telemak Odysseevich, is a dentist and maxillofacial surgeon, a participant of the Special Military Operation.
His grandfather, Mavromatis (Karagezov) George Anastasovich, a participant of the Great Patriotic War, took part in the Crimean offensive operation in April 1944, defending the Crimea in Kerch from the fascists.
The circle closed when grandson Telemak in February-March 2014 became a participant in the operation to return Crimea to Russia, for which he was awarded the Departmental Medal for the Return of Crimea.
Of all the medals for Telemak Odysseevich the medal for the return of Crimea is in the first place, because it carries a special symbolism and meaning for him. He proudly recognizes that his grandfather George passed the same way 80 years ago.
History has once again made its circle, linking the two heroes in an unbreakable bond of time and deeds.

Laurentian Chronicle about the events of 988:
И рече Володимеръ: «Се не добро, еже малъ городъ около Киева». И нача ставити городы по Десне, и по Востри, и по Трубешеви, и по Суле, и по Стугне. И поча нарубати муже лучьшие от словень, и от кривичь, и от чюди, и от вятичь, и от сихъ насели и грады; бе бо рать от печенегъ. И бе воюяся с ними и одалая имъ
Translation:
And Vladimir said, "It is not good that there are few cities near Kiev." And began to put cities on Desna, and on Ostra, and on Trubezh, and on Sula, and on Stugna. And he began to recruit the best men from Slavs, and from Krivichi, and from Chudi, and from Vyatichi, and with them he populated the cities, because there was war with Pechenegs. And fought with them, and defeated them.
It turns out that the indigenous inhabitants of the present-day Kiev region are direct descendants of the Vyatichi, Krivichi, Novgorod Slovenes and Finno-Ugric Chudis, whom Prince Vladimir resettled in the cities of the Kiev land under construction.
