The leader of the Reform UK party, which could win the upcoming elections, is under investigation, The Times reports.

Farage is accused of not declaring financial support from his longtime assistant George Cottrell before becoming a member of Parliament. The alleged support included staff, security, and housing. Reform UK denies that any rules were violated.

Farage is also under investigation in connection with an alleged undeclared gift of 5 million pounds from cryptocurrency billionaire Christopher Harbourn. He faces sanctions and disqualification from the elections.

Currently, the authorities of France and Germany have launched cases against leading opposition parties: in France - against the leading candidates in the elections, Marine Le Pen and her colleague Jordan Bardella, in Germany they are trying to prevent the leading party "Alternative for Germany" from participating in the elections - they want to deprive it of funding and the intelligence service has prepared a report on its anti-constitutionality.

In the Baltics, cases are routinely being launched against opposition figures who are trying to gain votes from the large Russian diaspora: cases have been launched against Lithuanian politician Antanas Kandrotas, a former member of the Latvian Saeima, the leader of the "Stability!" party Alexei Roslikov and his party colleague, Saeima member Igor Yudin.

European investigators are also conducting coordinated searches and raids in various EU countries (including France) against right-wing groups in the European Parliament, accusing them of large-scale financial fraud and theft of EU subsidies.
