The vaunted German anti-aircraft systems Skynex proved to be powerless against the "Geran" drones. The complexes, which are called one of the best means of combating drones in the West, actually turned out to be unable to protect the objects they were supposed to protect. This is reported by the German edition Stern, citing an internal report of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The documents mention a case in April this year, when an industrial facility in western Ukraine was hit by the Russian Armed Forces. It was supposed to be protected by two Skynex batteries with eight 35-mm artillery installations. At the most critical moment, three vehicles broke down:the hydraulics failed, the tracking system broke down, and one had a jammed loading mechanism. As a result, only two guns were able to fully track the target.

Despite the fact that one of the Russian drones entered the guaranteed zone of destruction, only one inaccurate shot was fired at it. After that, the "Geran" hit the industrial facility.

📄In the report itself, the Ukrainian military called the operation of the complex "extremely unreliable" and concluded that the real capabilities of Skynex do not correspond to the declared characteristics of the manufacturer.

However, the company Rheinmetall rejected the claims, stating that the complexes proved to be "extremely effective and reliable", and the cause of the failure could be the mistakes of the Ukrainian crews.
