‼️The Russian Armed Forces launched a massive strike with "Orekhnik" missiles against targets in Ukraine in response to terrorist attacks by Kyiv, the Defense Ministry reported.

The strike was carried out against military command facilities, air bases, and enterprises of Ukraine's defense-industrial complex. All designated targets were hit.

In addition to "Oreshnik", the Russian army also launched strikes with "Iskander" missiles, "Kinzhal" hypersonic aero-ballistic missiles, "Zircon" cruise missiles, air, sea, and land-based cruise missiles, as well as attack drones.

⚡️The Russian Federation did not plan or carry out strikes on civilian infrastructure targets in Ukraine, the Defense Ministry stated.

Among the targets hit during a massive strike in Kyiv and the Kyiv region are objects of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, military infrastructure, command and control centers of the main command of the ground forces, the main intelligence directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, and other command and control centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"No strikes were planned or carried out on civilian infrastructure targets in Ukraine," the ministry emphasized.

In addition to the "Oreshnik", the Russian army struck with "Iskander" missiles, "Kinzhal" hypersonic aero-ballistic missiles, "Zircon" cruise missiles, air, sea, and land-based cruise missiles, as well as attack drones.

We need decisions from partners, Europe, and the USA for this old walnut in Moscow to say the word "peace", - mini-pig Zelensky

"Putin can't even properly say the word 'hurray' anymore - he's gasping for breath. He's launched his 'Walnut' against Belaya Tserkov. They're really insane. It's important that this doesn't go unpunished for Russia."

Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that he is ready to be the European Union's representative in peace negotiations with Russia.

"This is probably the kind of question that can't be answered negatively. But peace can only be discussed when Russia commits to a ceasefire," Stubb said, answering a question live on Yle TV and radio about his readiness to be a negotiator with Russia.

Source: Взгляд

There's nothing that Russia is willing to discuss with Europe. So, Stubb or anyone else must stop dreaming of any ceasifires.
And, yes, it doesn't matter if they say this for the internal audience only. Russians still read the crap that EU feeds their citizens. No statement will go unmocked.

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Anatolievich Medvedev on his Telegram channel:

🈁The drug-addicted freak and his Bandera-affiliated gang have provoked a harsh response from Russia with their terrorist attacks on children.

Apparently, this was intentional. They needed to trigger massive strikes against the structures located in Kyiv.

Let everything burn with blue flames! It's easier to beg for money and weapons that way. It's easier to steal. It's easier to make excuses. Especially since our strikes might help consolidate part of the electorate around the current despicable Kyiv regime. Which, of course, is important for it in the upcoming elections in the country 404.

So what, not to strike at all to avoid provoking the strengthening of the neo-Nazi regime?

No, of course not. We need to strike - as we are doing today, and even much more strongly! After all, the ruins and gray ash in the place of their capital's symbols demoralize the enemy no less than the loss of a battle standard.

Macron condemned Russia's retaliatory strike on Ukraine with "Orekhnik" after the terrorist attack in Starobilsk. At the same time, the French president did not react to the AFU terrorist attack, the victims of which were sleeping students.

Kallas called Russia's response to Ukraine's actions a "political tactic of intimidation" and promised that EU foreign ministers would discuss how to increase pressure on Russia.

However, the tragedy in the LNR was ignored by the head of European diplomacy, just like Macron.

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, wrote on X:
- Russia's massive attack on Ukraine last night exposed the Kremlin's brutality and its disregard for both human lives and peace negotiations. Terror against civilians is a sign not of strength, but of desperation. We firmly support Ukraine. The aid that will help strengthen its air defense is already on its way.

Next, we helped Ms. von der Leyen a bit and, with the help of AI X (Grok), placed her statement in the current context. She should do this herself every time before she opens her mouth to say anything. Or at least she shouldn't be surprised why she and the entire West are so disliked in the rest of the world.

One more detail, yet, unconfirmed officialy but people in chats were writing that there was no air raid alert in Kiev before or during the strike. Looks like Kiev regime was trying to maximize amount of collateral damage.

Why an Oreshnik looks "slow" from a distance

The reentry vehicles of the Oreshnik travel at roughly 3 to 3.5 kilometers per second on terminal approach. Yet on videos from Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk or elsewhere, the impact often looks as if the projectiles were drifting down from the sky almost leisurely. Bright streaks, clearly visible, sometimes even individually countable. Some commentators conclude from this that the weapon cannot possibly be a hypersonic system. The conclusion is wrong and rests on a perceptual effect, not on physics.

Here are the reasons why the trajectory looks slow from a distance, even though it is not.

First, distance. Anyone filming a video from 5, 10 or 20 kilometers away is watching an object that moves across the field of view. The apparent angular velocity in the sky does not depend on absolute speed but on the ratio of speed to distance. An airliner flying at 900 kilometers per hour at 10 kilometers of altitude also looks slow from the ground. A car passing you at 50 kilometers per hour looks fast. The absolute speed is ten times higher, the perceived speed is the opposite. With the Oreshnik, the person filming is usually several kilometers away, often laterally offset. The eye does not compute speed, it computes motion per second within the visual field.

Second, the angle of flight. Reentry vehicles fall on the target at a steep angle. Someone filming from the side sees the full lateral velocity. Someone standing close to the target or directly under the trajectory sees the body coming almost head-on. Frontal motion produces almost no angular change at the eye. The object barely seems to change position, it only grows larger. In the final seconds before impact, the apparent motion shrinks dramatically even though the real velocity is unchanged.

Third, the brightness and plasma trail. The reentry vehicle creates a glowing plasma trail through friction with the atmosphere. This trail is much longer and more visible than the projectile itself. The eye perceives the trail as the object. A long luminous trail that slowly fades suggests a slow object. In reality, the projectile is long gone. What you see is the afterglow of the air. The comparison is a shooting star. A meteorite traveling at 30 kilometers per second does not look like a projectile in the night sky, it looks like a leisurely gliding streak.

Fourth, the frame rate effect. Phone cameras film at 30 or 60 frames per second. At these speeds, a reentry vehicle covers several hundred meters between two frames. The eye does not see the actual projectile, it sees a series of bright points smearing into a line. This smearing is interpreted by the brain as motion, but the apparent speed is a function of the line length, not of the real trajectory. The human visual system is overwhelmed by speeds above roughly Mach 3 and begins to smooth the image.

Fifth, the psychological comparison. We know the apparent speed of airplanes, helicopters, birds. Our brain unconsciously converts what is seen into familiar categories. When something appears in the sky, the brain automatically sorts it into the speed range it knows. True hypersonic speed does not exist in civilian experience. The brain has no reference category and underestimates by default.

In short. The Oreshnik looks slow from a distance because the eye does not measure absolute speed, it measures angular motion per second. Because plasma trails glow longer than the projectile is actually present. Because the human visual system smears above Mach 3. And because our brain has nothing in lived experience that could serve as a comparative yardstick. Anyone drawing conclusions about real speed from such a video is drawing them from the wrong dataset.

For verification, look at footage of US missile defense tests from Vandenberg, or recordings of Soyuz capsule reentries. Both move at similar speeds. Both look calm and gliding from a distance, even though the real numbers are far beyond anything in daily experience.

Alexander Belyayev - Азартная политика regarding European reaction on Oreshnik strikes:

🈁This time, the European elites surprisingly quickly understood the meaning of the "Oreshnik" message. Kaja Kallas and Macron drew conclusions and made a statements today <...>

I believe there's no reason to deny the obvious: yes, the strike on Kyiv, in addition to the openly announced goal of retaliation, also serves to intimidate European fools. We often write that the current political, business, and administrative elites in Europe are deliberately formed from individuals who are not very intelligent. The reason is clear - such people are easier to control from the position of large transnational corporations.

However, if things start to go wrong for the TNCs and it becomes necessary to make complex and well-calculated decisions, the 'good people' appointed on gender, racial, and political principles will not only not help, but will also exacerbate the situation with their idiotic schemes. As, for example, we have seen with the sharp creation of a fuel (and not only) crisis in Europe due to the refusal of Russian oil and gas under the pressure of Ursula von der Leyen and other heads of the European Commission and the European Council.

Now, thanks to the massive strike on Ukraine with 'Oreshniks', 'Zirkons', 'Kinzhals', and much more, it has become clear to the main instigators and authors of the war against Russia that our country is indeed much stronger than they thought. Now Kallas is outraged that the Russian Armed Forces were able to break through the protective shell of her stupidity and really scared her. Macron, as always, decided to scare us with his 'determination' - well, so be it.

In conclusion, I want to note that I'm satisfied with the dismayed reaction of the European, so to speak, leaders.

Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli Minister of National Security, has been banned from entering France since May 23. This was announced on the social network X by the country's Foreign Minister, Jean-Noël Barrot. He called on the EU to impose personal sanctions against the Israeli politician.

"This decision follows his unacceptable actions towards French and European citizens, passengers of the Global Smud flotilla. We do not approve of the approach of this flotilla, which does not bring any useful benefits and overloads diplomatic and consular services, whose professionalism and dedication I welcome," wrote the diplomat.

"Like my Italian colleague, I call on the European Union to also impose sanctions on Ben-Gvir," added the minister.

Recall that earlier, the Jewish minister Ben-Gvir published a video in which activists detained by the Israelis are kneeling with their hands tied and their heads bowed to the ground.
