According to the Fox News poll, Trump's approval rating is 41 percent and his disapproval rating is 59 percent, the latter marking a new high for either of his terms in the Oval Office. For historical context, Fox News compared Trump’s standing to former President Barack Obama at a similar point in his second term, when Obama registered 40 percent approval and 53 percent disapproval in March 2014.

Iran has informed intermediaries that Lebanon should be included in all ceasefire agreements with the US and Israel, sources told Reuters.

"Iran prioritizes Lebanon - it will not allow Israeli violations in Lebanon, as happened after the ceasefire in 2024," said one of the sources.

A Japanese officer who broke into the Chinese embassy wanted to commit suicide in front of the ambassador, reports the Kyodo agency. The serviceman planned to "convey his views to the ambassador" in this way. He also wanted to demand that the Chinese side…
Chinese Liaison (Китайский свяZноj):

A good example of how the media distort events.

Recently, a Japanese military serviceman broke into a Chinese diplomatic mission in Japan with a knife. He took advantage of the fact that China does not deploy security guards like US consulates/embassies do.

From the very first minutes of the incident, Japanese media began framing everything with the qualifier "according to Chinese pro-government media," leading to the implication: "And as we all know, they always lie, so nothing really happened." The initial framing of a news story largely determines how the topic develops. Consequently, Japanese media worked themselves into a conclusion that the whole thing was a fabrication and a provocation orchestrated by China. To top it off, they latched onto the term "soldier," arguing, "But he's an officer, not a soldier—so they lied about that too, which means everything else is a lie too."

It got to the point where a Kyodo News correspondent raised this issue at a Chinese Foreign Ministry press conference, suggesting that the serviceman had simply come by for a chat.

He was politely reminded that the man didn't simply "come by"—he climbed over the fence and was carrying a knife, which is not typical behavior for someone who just "wanted to chat."

But what difference will that make? Kyodo News, after all, is the renamed Domei News, the official propaganda organ of Imperial Japan. They're used to this.

They will solidify a consensus in Japanese society: a young man was just walking past the consulate, happened to wander in by accident, simply wanted to talk—and China immediately slandered him, got scared, oh how they fear us samurai.

The formula of adding "according to totalitarian media where everything is false, simply because it’s false, because that’s what all smart people are supposed to believe"—works perfectly. The next step is to establish the "correct" version of events on Wikipedia and lock the article from edits, calling any corrections "vandalism." Remove links to evidence with the note "unreliable source." Then train an AI on it, and it will clearly explain—no one attacked the Chinese diplomatic mission, it’s all a fabrication of Chinese totalitarian propaganda.
@grok is it true, and so on. Now all of this is automated...

The tanker belongs to a Turkish company. An explosion occurred in the engine room of the vessel. We assume that its cause was a hit by an unmanned boat

By the way, Musk admitted that he screwed up with Grok and said he'd be starting over from scratch. I don't know what they are using at the moment, but Grok is basically unusable right now.

Speaking of AI. Several ideas why they are limiting use of, this tool now:

1) Upcoming energy crisis. This IS a pricy thing to support all the data centres, so, ordinary users will have to abstain from what the chosen few will use AI for.

2) RAM deficit and possible microchip deficit.

3) Too much competition to big music brands from the side of ordinary users. Who needs new talentless "stars" when AI can generate any song one wants, for free, and that will sound better than what is available on the market for money.

4) People got used to using it for free and got dependent. Time to pay.

Zelenksy insists that the US has asked Ukraine for help in defending its bases in the Middle East from Iranian attacks.

"The United States of America approached us regarding their bases in Middle Eastern countries. We were also approached by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. We are already working with some of them, and our expert teams are on site: assessing the situation and sharing invaluable experience. We are now talking about the future supply of certain things that Ukraine has," the president said in an interview with Le Monde.

Recall, Trump denied that the US had asked Ukraine for help, saying: "Zelenksy is the last person we need help from."

This drama is pretty hilarious. Two egotistical parasites attempting to feed off of the same host.

АДЕКВАТ Z writes,

After numerous and persistent unsuccessful attempts to sabotage the compressor stations of the "Turkish Stream", the Khokls decided to express their respect and gratitude to the Turks in an alternative way. They rammed a Turkish tanker with 140 thousand tons of our oil near the Bosphorus with an unmanned surface vehicle. The tanks themselves, at least for now, miraculously did not leak, but the leaks from the fuel tanks of the ship itself were enough to create a water stain the size of a square kilometer. With any luck, it will be possible to deal with it before it reaches the shores of Istanbul directly.

There are many contexts to this victory, but I'll limit myself to one, the most recent. A week ago, on the anniversary of the return of Crimea to Russia, the Turkish Foreign Ministry grandly declared that it does not and will never recognize this return and with what unshakable determination the Turks will support the Khokls to the end, in joy and sorrow. The two-legged pigs would not be two-legged pigs if they did not deliberately and profusely shit on the hand that feeds them against this backdrop; by the way, whoever takes the trouble to translate and post the triumphant jumps of the herd on this occasion in Turkish public accounts will be doing a good and useful thing.

In none of the official Turkish reactions is there - and, I'm sure, will not be - a single word on the question of who did it. As for the question of whether Erdogan is a national puppet in this regard or something similar, let Turkish public opinion sort it out for itself.

I've always said that the USA, along with many others, learned the wrong lesson from the fall of the Soviet Union. They all have this built in assumption that every nation opposed to them is run by hated authoritarians and the populace is just yearning to overthrow them to usher in a "free and prosperous" new society built on American ideals. It really hasn't happened anywhere it has been tried in 30 years, and even in Russia it was a misunderstanding of the reality. It's just a convenient narrative used to justify aggression, and as they say, "never get high on your own supply."

Trump believes that the conflict with Iran is distracting him from other priorities, and he would like to focus on solving other tasks, writes the Wall Street Journal, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, in conversations with external political allies, Trump often returned to domestic issues. Among the topics that concern him are the upcoming midterm elections, the deployment of immigration service officers to airports, and the promotion of initiatives to tighten voting rules through Congress.

As the publication notes, in a conversation with one of his allies, Trump directly said that the conflict with Tehran distracts him from other priorities.

Notice how none of his priorities have anything to do with the things that Americans care and worry the most about, namely affordability, housing, and healthcare.

Military Chronicle:

Iran has begun rapidly fortifying Kharg Island. The garrison has been significantly reinforced, the territory is heavily mined with anti-personnel mines, and the defense units are massively equipped with MANPADS and other modern air defense and anti-ship weapons. Trump's entourage has already pointed to these measures as a factor increasing the cost of the operation (primarily due to potentially high casualties). But the main intrigue of the current moment is whether Washington will risk landing Marines on the prepared-for-defense Kharg, or whether the island will be deliberately politicized and discussed in the media to give it importance and divert attention from the real direction of another strike.

How is any of this a "British interest?"

"Oh man, once we started threatening Russian ships, my income went up, my kids started doing better in school, and my student debt just evaporated!" Said nobody, ever.

Here in the states, I was saying this to people even before 2022. "Okay, we hurt Russia. Then what? In what way does this put food on your table or help with any of our legion of domestic problems?"

Trump posted a link to an article on his social network "Truth Social" claiming that Ukraine allegedly plotted to route money to the Biden campaign.

The Trump presidency has definitely been a blow to the Ukrainian project in most ways. This is mostly coincidence. Trump is an insane narcissist who happened to land on the right side of the issue in 2016, and the other side of American politics never forgave him for it. The problem for them is that they turned Ukraine into a personal issue for Trump, and he managed to become president again. While I applaud their miscalculation, I still think Trump is a moron, regardless of whether he sticks the knife in Ukraine or not.

Also, his administration has continued to provide Ukraine with intelligence and technology while also tightening sanctions against Russia. Anything positive that comes out of Trump being president is coincidental at best.
