How are investors still believing this?
Well, it is getting less and less effective. Prices fell $40 per barrel on Trump's first announcement that the war would end soon, but this time they only fell $10. People are starting to figure out these people are full of shit.

Colombia has banned mercenarism.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro approved a bill on the country's accession to the Convention against Mercenarism, said Alejandro Toro, a deputy from the ruling coalition "Historic Pact".
"Great news! President Gustavo Petro signed Law 2569 of March 17, 2026, banning the use of Colombian mercenaries," the politician said.
In December last year, the Spanish El Pais reported that between 2,000 and 3,000 Colombians were serving as mercenaries in the Ukrainian army. However, the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs admits that at least 300 Colombians have died. However, as the publication notes with reference to the families of mercenaries, this number is much higher, taking into account those who are still missing, as their bodies could not be found in the territory controlled by Russia.
The publication cites the story of Marta Sarmiento, whose husband Ricardo, according to the information she received, died in the spring of 2025, but is officially listed as missing, and she continues to receive her husband's salary.
Marta is now a volunteer in the organization "Voices of Those Who Are No Longer", which represents the interests of up to 250 families who, having confirmed - officially or unofficially - the death of their loved ones in the war in Ukraine, began demanding the repatriation of their bodies and the help promised by the Ukrainian authorities. In early December, several of them held a demonstration in the center of Bogota, calling on the Foreign Ministry to get answers from Kyiv.
The newspaper spoke with seven families of Colombian soldiers of the Ukrainian army who died in recent months. The stories contain several common features: the recruits usually have military experience in Colombia and are tempted by offers of high salaries from the Ukrainian authorities. They find out about the possibility through social networks, mainly TikTok, and soon go to war.
"The Ukrainian war is a slaughter for foreigners. In 10 years, no one will remember my father. Those who leave become just numbers in statistics. They will just be another figure on a memorial plaque, not even a statue. And I ask myself: why? So many houses have been destroyed, and there's no end in sight," said a son of one of the deceased to El Pais.
The Ukrainian Embassy in Lima (Peru), which also represents the country's interests in Colombia, informs the families of the deceased that "in the event of death in combat, family members are entitled to a one-time financial compensation". The amount of compensation, set by law, is approximately $3,500 per month, paid in about 80 installments. The embassy admits that "there are reasons why the payment may be delayed or not made". In the "overwhelming majority of cases", it adds, this is due to the lack of documents, although there are other exceptions. For example, a woman who was in a civil marriage with the deceased will not receive compensation, as this type of relationship is not recognized in Ukraine.
Several Colombians who survived the war told the publication that the Ukrainian army pays more to recruits who decide to go to the front, and that's why so many foreigners are dying.

More than half of Americans believe that the US leadership will order the deployment of more American military forces to the Middle East as part of military actions against Iran, while only 7% of those surveyed support such a decision. This is stated in the…
АДЕКВАТ Z writes,
The dispatch of a second Marine Expeditionary Unit from San Diego to the Middle East strongly suggests that the aggressor does not see or expect any good for itself in the current inertial scenario of combat operations.
The continuation of exchanges of strikes in the current mode will lead to the exhaustion of the aggressors' ammunition supplies, first for air defense (which is already quite evident), and then for offensive operations. Both Israel's and the Arab energy infrastructure are increasingly battered and humiliated. The methodical accumulation of secondary economic effects is occurring almost worldwide. Most importantly, there is a complete lack of any prospects for a strategic victory.
The point of no return with the option of declaring this very victory and retreating like an alpha-chimp, I believe, has long been passed. It's not so much that Iran won't let them go for free, but that the consolidation of current results, especially as their details become public, will become an obvious and indelible embarrassment for Trump. An embarrassment of such a kind that he would consider it personal happiness if two-thirds of the Senate, including many Republicans, did not vote for impeachment after November.
Therefore, some form of ground operation seems absolutely inevitable, and preparations for it are already clearly visible; the only intrigue is whether to wait for the start after the arrival of the first expeditionary unit from Okinawa in a week, or to wait for the second one, in about three weeks. Regardless of the tactical results that the operation might bring, strategically, the aggressor will only dig himself deeper into a muddy clay track, multiplying the cost of waging war (including for the grateful planet) and the cost of withdrawing from it by who-knows-how-much. But Americans are not unfamiliar with this.
We await their next move not with impatience, but with great interest - and we wholeheartedly believe that among all the possible objectives of a ground operation, the alpha-chimp will choose the most grandiose and the most suicidal for his troops.

By refusing supplies from Russia, Europeans are shooting themselves in the foot, noted the press secretary of the Russian president.
Earlier, Ursula von der Leyen said that the EC does not intend to revise the deadlines for abandoning Russian LNG. She added that the refusal of Russian energy carriers will continue even if there is a shortage of energy resources in Europe.

In a comment on the latest attacks on the compressor stations of the "Blue" and "Turkish" pipelines on March 17-19, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Kyiv hopes to undermine Moscow's position as a reliable supplier and transit of energy resources and keep the Ukrainian crisis in the spotlight.
A direct consequence of such terrorist activities by Kyiv could be serious damage to regional energy security, which could lead to further destabilization of the global energy market.Maria Zakharova also drew attention to the coincidence of the attack on energy facilities with Zelensky's meetings with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, which "unintentionally leads to the thought of its true beneficiaries".
Russia, Zakharova stressed, continues to work with "partners interested in the safe and reliable operation of the existing international energy and logistics infrastructure, ensuring the supply of Russian hydrocarbons".
