Ireland will allow the military to inspect Russian ships, reports the Irish Examiner.

The armed forces will be able to board and inspect vessels that, as the source notes, are suspected of violating the unilateral sanctions imposed by the West against Russia. The document is planned to be adopted before the summer.

Berlin should clarify Germany's role in Britain and France's plan to transfer nuclear weapons to Ukraine, said the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev.

He noted that although Germany refused to participate in this "adventure", it could have played the role of a sponsor, intermediary, organizer or cover-up structure, which implies responsibility for what is happening.

"In turn, this means that Germany has its own share of information about what is happening, and its own share of responsibility for what is happening," he said.

The Russian side has sent a parliamentary request to Germany demanding to clarify its role in this project and is awaiting a response, he added.

The Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council noted that there has been no official and responsible reaction from London and Paris to the information from Russian intelligence, and the statements of the press services are of a formal nature and do not confirm compliance with the obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

Russia is launching the production of the Tu-214 aircraft, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, speaking in the State Duma with a report on the government's work for 2025.

He noted that during the year, specialists conducted intensive tests of aircraft based on advanced Russian solutions and materials, which allowed the aircraft to be certified in December.

Mishustin also highlighted other key projects of the aviation industry: the medium-haul MS-21, the updated SJ-100, the regional Il-114 and the light multi-purpose aircraft "Baikal" with a Russian engine, which successfully made its first flight.

"At the same time, we were developing unmanned aerial systems. The infrastructure for their testing and competence enhancement has already been deployed in about a third of the regions," noted the Prime Minister.

❗️In December, the updated Tu-214 passed certification with the replacement of imported components with domestic ones, which allows to start full-scale serial production after the completion of all improvements by 2026.

Russian scientists have developed vaccines against various types of cancer, and they plan to include them in the compulsory health insurance program, said Mikhail Mishustin, speaking in the State Duma with a report on the government's work for 2025.

Rosgvardiya officers are conducting large-scale anti-sabotage exercises in Karelia.

The fighters of the SOBR "Karkhu" unit are moving at maximum speed on the ice of Lake Onega, carrying 15 kg of equipment on their shoulders. Their task is to intercept a sabotage group. The border with Finland is about 200 kilometers from here. More details in the story on REN TV.

"The Republic of Karelia is a border region. Now Finland is a member of NATO countries. Accordingly, our units must be in constant combat readiness," emphasized the head of the Rosgvardiya department in Karelia, Nikolay Putilin.

Finland is now an unfriendly state, and the border with the North Atlantic Alliance runs here — through the Karelian forests and lakes. At the bottom of Lake Onega, the fighters practice shooting and defusing explosive devices. On land, the work is tougher: the fighters storm a building captured by a hypothetical sabotage group. In the hands of the vanguard fighter is an assault shield with a strobe light, which blinds the enemy. The entire operation is monitored by a drone.

"They did a great job. I didn't stand a chance. They came in from two sides, everything worked out, and I was neutralized," added the officer of the SOBR "Karkhu" unit of the Rosgvardiya department in Karelia, Igor, in a comment to REN TV correspondent Daniil Lankov.

What a coincidence! For the second time, Chinese gas traders are pulling their European colleagues back from the brink of disaster. In Europe, underground gas storage facilities are at record lows, and there's still a whole month left of the heating season. Gas is in high demand, but TTF prices aren't rising.

The chart shows LNG deliveries to China. In February, they fell to multi-year lows. "It's the Chinese New Year," Bloomberg writes, implying that this is a normal occurrence. But during previous Chinese New Year celebrations, there were no similar drops in LNG supplies.

It's clear that with a plunge in Chinese purchases, the LNG market is immediately oversupplied. Storing liquefied gas in tankers, as oil companies do when demand drops, is very costly. LNG tends to evaporate, so traders are trying to sell their batches as quickly as possible. And, of course, this LNG immediately flows to Europe - a market facing a severe shortage.

Similarly, Chinese oil giants did the same with LNG during the peak of the European gas crisis in 2022-2023, simply redirecting all contracted gas to the region. But back then, at least you could make a surplus margin on such operations. Now, however, gas prices in Europe are low.

Of course, one could say, "it's not personal, it's just business." However, China is saving Europe not at the expense of its own gas, but at the expense of Gazprom's pipeline gas, which, among other things, creates a surplus in the Chinese gas market and opportunities for LNG maneuvers.

In this entire gas puzzle, China's role as a new gas hub is interesting. For the second time in five years, the Chinese are showing that the global gas market has become more complex, and the old model - monopoly buyer - monopoly seller - no longer works. In the new reality, the buyer can also become a reseller.

But why are the Chinese once again saving Europe from an energy collapse? That's a question of big geopolitics. Let's assume they harbor great affection for the Lao people.

To sum up the situation - that's all about balance. China needs EU as a market and as something to counter the US. There are no friends in politics, only interests. There cannot be absolute victory, as end of one war means preparation to another. Stating this, just to emphasize one again - there are only interests and there's not a single reason to wait for someone who appears and resolves all the global problems.
