After the whole "energy ceasefire" saga, which had the entire military blogosphere convulsing for two days, Peskov's statement ultimately boiled down precisely to this crude little scene. Its emphases leave no room for convulsions for anyone with even a shred of sense: By the personal petition of Agent Donald, the khokhols received—with Jesuitical precision, not during the deepest frost but on its very eve—a gift of two or three days without strikes on their energy sector, and only on their energy sector. This handout, however, came wrapped in a pointed caveat: it's to create favorable conditions for negotiations.

And today, that lowlife [Zelensky] made a point of pointedly ignoring this very caveat. We are calmly observing the events, in full and clear understanding that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief does not and will not permit any strategic or tactical retreats from the country's interests.
