One of the most spectacular solar eclipses the UK has seen for decades is taking place on Wednesday 12 August.
From around 18:00 BST, the Moon will begin moving across the face of the Sun, creating a partial solar eclipse across the UK
At its peak, around 90% of the Sun will be covered.
Depending on where you are in the UK, it will peak between 19:00 and 19:16 BST.
Millions across the UK and parts of Europe are getting ready for the most significant solar eclipse since 1999
By the coast is a good place to see this tonight.

2002 gave us two great things: the Spider-Man film and the International Criminal Court.
Spider-Man showed us a hero who does the right thing even when it comes at a personal cost. The ICC pursues justice even when it is difficult.
For the EU, the International Criminal Court is the cornerstone of the international criminal justice system.
That is why we stand firmly behind the ICC, its independence and its ability to investigate and prosecute the world's most serious crimes free from pressure, intimidation or interference.
Our support is political, diplomatic and financial.
Because accountability is essential to justice. And justice is essential to lasting peace.
(EU diplomacy)
… “Firmly behind the ICC” even after the corruption scandals. “Persue justice”, don’t make me laugh. The EU pledged via Kallas to be the “biggest financial sponsor” of Palestinian terrorism. What a dangerous morons …

🇩🇪 Germany paid €6,000 to a dangerous Islamist migrant to leave the country after he successfully challenged his deportation in court
With the help of NGOs, Syrian Islamic radical Abdulhadi B. successfully challenged his deportation in court, but later authorities reached an agreement with him on voluntary departure to Syria via Istanbul, paying him 6,000 euros.
Before boarding his flight, he displayed the Islamic State index-finger gesture, called himself a “soldier of God” and called non-Muslims “infidels.”
He also intended to train a 7-year-old boy to become an ISIS child soldier.
He had been considered one of the most dangerous Islamists in Germany.

Did your favorite celebrity take part in a secret terrorist money-laundering charity?
Hollywood gave MECA decades of credibility. Now federal investigators want to know where the money actually went.
Celebrity backing, millions sent to Gaza, alleged PFLP-linked networks, and more than $10 million in foreign grants are all under investigation.
**
Hollywood’s favorite charity just got a federal subpoena.
The Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA) has raised millions with celebrity.
Now Congress wants to know if the money reached a terrorist group instead.
Barbara Lubin founded the Middle East Children's Alliance in Berkeley in 1988, raising over $50 million for schools and clinics in Gaza with a star-studded board and donor list.
Congress and the DOJ have now opened an investigation into whether that money actually reached the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a Marxist militant group the US designated a terrorist organization in 1997.
The pattern investigators are tracing:
📌1993: A State Department study named three Palestinian groups, the UAWC, UHWC, and UPWC, as the PFLP's core operating network
📌1997: The US designated the PFLP a terrorist organization
📌2020-2021: MECA funded all three of those exact groups, confirmed by its own filings
📌2022: The Netherlands quietly cut its own funding to one after two of its employees were arrested in a bombing that killed an Israeli teenager.
Star power gave MECA decades of legitimacy:
📌Noam Chomsky and Rep. Maxine Waters
both sat on MECA's board
📌Edward Said, Maya Angelou, and Alice Walker backed the charity publicly
📌Angela Davis eulogized founder Barbara Lubin in front of 300 people this year
📌George Soros's Open Society Foundations funded it directly
MECA's longtime Gaza director, Dr. Mona El Farra, previously worked as deputy director of the the UHWC- one of the three groups identified as part of the PFLP.
Fergie Chambers, the Marxist heir to the Cox Enterprises media fortune currently jailed in Spain for financing Palestinian terrorist groups, gave MECA $750,000 after October 7.
MECA has also fundraised alongside groups tied to Neville Roy Singham, the Shanghai-based tech multimillionaire under federal investigation for ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Singham-linked groups helped organize this year's "Hands Off Iran" protests.
In 2024, MECA distributed more than $10 million in foreign grants. 73% of grant recipients were unnamed and listed as "community projects," with funding allocated through conceled pay structures on platforms that don't disclose donor identities.
Celebrities gave MECA forty years of legitimacy. MECA used it to fund terrorism.

⚫️ An Iranian opposition journalist, Omidd Dana, has created a video using artificial intelligence. The video depicts Mojtaba khamenei waking up from a 6-month coma and discovering the state of his health, his family, and his country, along with the possibility that the United States might invade southern Iran.
Ahmad Vahidi, the commander of the Revolutionary Guard, explains the situation to him and mentions that someone is using his signature through ChatGPT and making decisions in his name. When he asks if they have "won," Vahidi replies, "Of course."
This is a classic scene that questions whether Khamenei is still the decision-maker in Iran after the assassination of his father.

The IDF announced that after nearly 78 years, the grave of fallen soldier Shlomo Chaimson, who was killed in 1948 by gunfire from guards at a detention camp in Cyprus while attempting to escape, has been located. Chaimson was buried in Cyprus, and in 1970, his remains were brought to Israel and buried in Haifa as an unidentified individual. An IDF investigation has now determined the location of his grave.

Trump:
The United States has complete control over the Strait of Hormuz. I think we will maintain that control. Our naval presence is known to everyone as the "steel wall," and there is nothing Iran can do about it.
They have no navy, no air force, the soldiers they have left are not being paid, the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has been severely weakened and is fleeing, and their "leadership" is, to put it mildly, unstable.
They have no money – their country is "devastated." All they have are fake news and 300% inflation, and the situation is only getting worse.
Iran is all talk and no action – it is no longer the bully of the Middle East.
Praise be to Allah.
