The Freedom Shield exercises, which will last from March 4 to 14, are taking place at a time when North Korea continues to develop its nuclear capabilities by testing missiles and other weapons, according to Reuters.
These will be the first drills between the two countries since Pyongyang abrogated the 2018 inter-Korean military agreement in November.
