⚪️ International keynote speaker and independent consultant, advisor at Global Energy Community Mr. Rob Veersma (the Netherlands) and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the African Youth Architects and Young African Leader Awards Ms. Fatou Hydra (Gambia) were our today’s distinguished keynote speakers. They raised the important questions how to become a leader in the sphere of sustainable development and to draw our attention to the issues caused by climate change, human actions and other factors.

THE FIRST STAGE IS ON

The participants of the ESPDP Program began the 1st stage of the program last week. Participants from 7 countries have been sorted into teams and are working on the first educational course dedicated to the SDGs (Sustainable development Goals).

Participants are learning about sustainable energy, the climate change effects, regional topical issues in the field of sustainability, the importance of SDGs and sustainability for the international development and many more. 💪🏻

📌 MEET OUR EXPERT

On the 2st Phase of the Program in March our participants will enrich with knowledge in the field of energy, world economy basics and sustainable development, as well as develop leadership and teamwork skills.

🌏 RICCARDO CHEBAC is a scientist and Ph.D. candidate at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) where he earned MSc in Nuclear Engineering. Currently Mr. Chebac is studying the dismantling process optimization for graphite-moderated reactors whilst simultaneously working on a novel grabbing unit for graphite bricks extraction and graphite electrochemical decontamination using molten salts with the UC Berkeley (The USA).

🌏 Besides, Riccardo Chebac worked in the Radioactive Waste Management and Decommissioning division (RWMD) at the OECD-NEA. Mr. Chebac’s research focused on kick-starting the Working Party on Technical, Environmental and Safety aspects of decommissioning and legacy management (WPTES), the Working Party on Management and Organizational Aspects of decommissioning and legacy management (WPMO) and the Expert Group on Holistic Process for Decision-Making on decommissioning and Management of complex sites (HDCS). Additional expertise of Mr. Chebac in this research included helping in the advancement of the Regulators’ Forum (RF) and the NEST project i-graphite.

The SDG Academy is the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network program. The web-site is dedicated to all things pertaining to the SDGs, the UN Agenda 2030 and Sustainability. Here you can get access to the 40 MOOCs (online courses) dedicated to the topic of SDGs taught be the leading global experts from the most renowned universities, scientific centres, government and non-profit institutions in the world (NYU, the Stockholm Resilience Centre and many more). Besides, the platform offers the opportunity to browse more than 1800 videos on the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, to those interested in a more in-depth approach to the topic, the SDG Academy presents the Online Master’s Program in Sustainable Development in partnership with the University College Dublin and the Sunway University.
