The SDG Academy is the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network program. The web-site is dedicated to all things pertaining to the SDGs, the UN Agenda 2030 and Sustainability. Here you can get access to the 40 MOOCs (online courses) dedicated to the topic of SDGs taught be the leading global experts from the most renowned universities, scientific centres, government and non-profit institutions in the world (NYU, the Stockholm Resilience Centre and many more). Besides, the platform offers the opportunity to browse more than 1800 videos on the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, to those interested in a more in-depth approach to the topic, the SDG Academy presents the Online Master’s Program in Sustainable Development in partnership with the University College Dublin and the Sunway University. Another option is to participate in the Global Classroom project which enables students from all around the world to learn about the SDGs with global experts and become a member of the international community. This is a short free certified introductory course on the SDGs indicators under FAO Custodianship. The certificates are awarded to all the participants upon the completion of 75% of the course. This is an unparalleled opportunity to acquire a UN certificate and learn about the SDGs indicators.

The ESPD Program aims not only to provide the participants with the understanding of the SDGs and the recent energy topics but also to help them to boost their personals skills through working in diverse teams and practice the presentations skills. Since the start of the program, the participants have been learning and working in teams to discuss the topics that were introduced to them. At the end of each month, these teams participate in the Presentations' day in which the members present the knowledge that they got throughout the program so far. Yesterday, it was the first round of presentations and many participants have showed a deep understanding of the topics introduced to them through presenting their summaries. Everyone is ready now for the new teams' shuffling and the start of the 2nd round of teamworking 💪🏻

Having earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and later his Master’s — in Renewable Energy Economics from the University of Ibadan, Ayodeji Stephen went on to become a Doctoral researcher at Dublin City University.
🌍 Today, Mr. Stephen is a climate and environmental sustainability fellow at the Urban Leaders Fellowship in the US, an independent consultant for green energy businesses across Africa and a creator of the Energy Gist, a blog dedicated to creating more awareness around sustainable energy consumption and building the collaboration between the African youth and the government. Ayodeji Stephen has organized more than 20 clean energy policy dialogues in Nigeria.

This assessment assisted the participants in identifying their own leadership styles which were discussed during the meeting.

📌 THE 2ND WEBINAR ON THE ENERGY DECENTRALISATION AND THE SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY OF ENERGY
On the 1st April March, 2023, international expert Mehdi Basati delivered the 2nd lecture on the aspects of energy decentralisation and the sustainable supply of energy as a part of ESPDP Phase #2.
💡At the webinar Mehdi Basati, the Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University’s Energy Institute’s researcher, and ESPDP participants discussed a variety of important aspects, ranging from efficient strategies for commercial buildings to different types of supply generation. Under the guidance of Mehdi Basati the participants examined a simple diagram of a microgrid network, became acquainted with four types of efficient strategies which are utilised in commercial buildings as well as explored a basic example of a microgrid system. Members of ESPDP Project Teams were presented with opportunities to pose their questions to Mehdi Basati in order to enhance their expertise in the field of energy decentralisation and the sustainable energy supply.
