On November 10, 2025 (Aban 19, 1404), a session titled “Engineers’ Park, November 10, 7 PM: The Speculative Ectopus” was held alongside the 18th Harekat Intra-University Festival, featuring a lecture by Dr. Hamed Habibzadeh.

Dr. Habibzadeh opened his talk by highlighting the idea of each person’s "unique time–space position", the notion that every individual occupies a specific moment and place only once, and that giving meaning to that moment through language, narrative, and imagination is a human responsibility. He then introduced the concept of "speculation", a mode of thinking in which established history and accepted reality are revisited from a new angle, asking “What if things had turned out differently?” With examples from history, literature, language, and even small variations in pronunciation, he illustrated how the smallest differences can spark a new perspective and bring individuals closer to their own personal voice.

He pointed to the role of language in shaping identity, arguing that every speaker is able to develop a personal version of the language, as these subtle differences separate personal narratives from official ones. He described speculative literature as a method of re-interpreting the world, shaped not by distant fantasy but by everyday reality and the hidden possibilities within it. Drawing on historical examples, from Martin Luther to the fall of the Berlin Wall, and references to the works of Margaret Atwood, he showed how speculation can be used to envision plausible futures based on the present. The lecture concluded with an emphasis on the idea that storytelling and linguistic creativity, especially when rooted in one’s own time and place, serve as tools for survival, visibility, and the preservation of one’s individual voice in the world.

در تاریخ ۱۹ آبان‌ماه ۱۴۰۴، نشست علمی با عنوان «پارک مهندس‌ها، ۱۹ آبان، ساعت ۷ عصر: اِختاپوسِ گمانه‌زن»، همزمان با هجدهمین جشنواره‌ی درون‌دانشگاهی حرکت، با سخنرانی جناب آقای دکتر حامد حبیب‌زاده برگزار شد.

در ابتدای سخنرانی آقای دکتر حبیب‌زاده از مفهوم «زمان و مکانِ منحصربه‌فرد هر شخص» به‌عنوان نقطه‌‌ی آغاز بحث یاد کردند؛ اینکه هر شخص تنها یک‌بار، یک لحظه و یک موقعیت را اِشغال می‌کند، و معنا بخشیدن به آن لحظه از طریق زبان، روایت و تخیل، وظیفه‌‌ی هر انسان است. ایشان سپس مفهوم «گمانه‌زنی» را توضیح دادند؛ رویکردی که در آن تاریخ و واقعیت پذیرفته‌شده دوباره از زاویه‌ای تازه خوانده می‌شود و این پرسش مطرح می‌شود که «اگر این‌گونه نمی‌شد، چه می‌شد؟». ایشان با ارائه‌ی نمونه‌هایی از تاریخ، ادبیات، زبان، و حتی تلفظ واژه‌ها نشان دادند که چگونه کوچک‌ترین تفاوت‌ها می‌تواند سرآغاز شکل‌گیری زاویه‌‌ی دید تازه باشد و فرد را به صدای شخصی‌اش نزدیک‌تر کند.

در ادامه، آقای دکتر حبیب‌زاده با اشاره به نقش زبان در ساختن هویت توضیح دادند که فرد فارسی‌زبان، حتی هنگام سخن گفتن به زبان انگلیسی، می‌تواند و باید «نسخه‌ی شخصی» زبان را بسازد؛ زیرا همین تفاوت‌هاست که روایت فردی او را از روایت رسمی یا جمعی جدا می‌کند. ایشان ادبیات گمانه‌زن را شیوه‌ای دانستند برای معنا‌بخشی دوباره به جهان؛ روایتی که نه از دل تخیل دوردست، بلکه از دل همین واقعیت روزمره و امکان‌های پنهان در آن شکل می‌گیرد. همچنین با مثال‌هایی از تاریخ، از مارتین لوتر تا فروپاشی دیوار برلین، و با اشاره به آثار مارگارت اتوود، نشان دادند که چگونه گمانه‌زنی می‌تواند آینده‌‌ی محتمل را بر اساس امروز تصویر کند. سخنرانی با تأکید بر این نکته پایان یافت که روایت‌گری و زبان‌ورزی، به‌ویژه وقتی از دل زمان و مکان شخصی ما می‌آید، ابزاری برای «بقا» و شنیده شدن صدای فردی در گفت‌وگوهای جاری جهان است.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, concurrent with the 18th Intramural Festival of Harekat, a session was held dedicated to the reading and discussion of Akbar Radi’s play “Ahanghâ-ye Shokolâti (Chocolate Songs)”. In this session, Mahdieh Sadat Mirabotalebi, as the primary reader, together with the active participation of Narges Aminian, Fatemeh Saroughian, and Raz Ghorbani, presented selected excerpts from the play. The goal was to introduce the audience to the atmosphere of the text and allow them to engage directly with its meaning through an interpretive reading.

The session opened with a brief introduction on the value of collective play-reading, highlighting how experiencing a dramatic text in a group setting helps listeners connect more deeply with its rhythm, tone, tension, and emotional undercurrents. This was followed by the reading of sections from “Ahanghâ-ye Shokolâti (Chocolate Songs)”, immersing participants in the play’s layered and imaginative world—a realm where fantasy, surreal characters, and symbolic situations coexist with everyday reality. The discussion also touched on Radi’s deliberate use of symbolism throughout the play. Characters, actions, and even the setting function as symbolic elements that gesture toward meanings beyond their surface level, inviting the audience to interpret, infer, and participate in creating meaning. As the session progressed, the conversation naturally shifted toward the construction of the play’s narrative world, the dynamics between characters, and the interplay of bitter humor, longing, fantasy, and realism woven into the text. Without engaging in lengthy analytical debate, participants became more attuned to these dimensions simply through the act of listening.

The session concluded with an emphasis on the idea that literary reading, even within a small group and without formal scholarly discussion, can serve as a meaningful way to approach dramatic works, helping readers develop their own personal perspective and encounter with the text.

گزارش برنامه

در تاریخ سه‌شنبه ۲۰ آبان‌ماه ۱۴۰۴، همزمان با هجدهمین جشنواره‌ی درون‌دانشگاهی حرکت، نشستی با محوریت خوانش و تحلیل نمایشنامه‌ی «آهنگ‌های شکلاتی» اثر اکبر رادی برگزار شد.

در این برنامه، مهدیه سادات میرابوطالبی، به‌عنوان خوانش‌گر اصلی اثر، با همراهی و حضور فعال نرگس امینیان، فاطمه ساروقیان و راز قربانی، بخش‌هایی از نمایشنامه را با هدف آشنایی عمومی مخاطبان با فضای متن و دریافت مستقیم معنا از طریق خوانش ادبی ارائه کردند. در ابتدای نشست، مقدمه‌ای کوتاه درباره‌ی اهمیت خوانش جمعی نمایشنامه‌ها مطرح شد و توضیح داده شد که چگونه خواندن متن نمایشی به‌صورت گروهی به شنونده امکان می‌دهد با ریتم، لحن، تنش و فضای عاطفی اثر ارتباطی عمیق‌تر برقرار کند. سپس بخش‌هایی از نمایشنامه‌ی «آهنگ‌های شکلاتی» خوانده شد و شرکت‌کنندگان با دنیای فانتزی و چندلایه‌ی اثر روبه‌رو شدند؛ جهانی که در آن عناصر خیال، شخصیت‌های فراواقعی و موقعیت‌های نمادین در کنار واقعیت روزمره قرار می‌گیرند. همچنین، به این نکته پرداخته شد که رادی در این نمایشنامه از «نماد» به‌عنوان ابزاری برای بیان لایه‌های پنهان‌تر معنا بهره می‌گیرد؛ به‌گونه‌ای که شخصیت‌ها، رفتارها و حتی فضای داستان، نماینده چیزی فراتر از معنای سطحی خود هستند و مخاطب را به تفسیر شخصی و مشارکت در خلق معنا دعوت می‌کنند. در ادامه‌ی نشست، فضای فکری جلسه بیشتر به سمت توجه به شکل‌گیری جهان روایی نمایشنامه، رابطه‌ی میان شخصیت‌ها، و شیوه‌ی ترکیب عناصر طنز تلخ، حسرت، خیال‌پردازی و واقع‌گرایی در متن رفت. شرکت‌کنندگان بدون ورود به بحث‌های مفصل، بیشتر در جریان خوانش، به این جنبه‌ها حساس شدند و متن را از این زاویه تجربه کردند.

در پایان نیز بر این نکته تأکید شد که خوانش ادبی حتی در یک جمع کوچک و بدون گفت‌وگوی تخصصی می‌تواند راهی برای نزدیک‌تر شدن به آثار نمایشی باشد و کمک کند که مخاطب نگاه و تجربه‌ی شخصی خود را در مواجهه با متن پیدا کند.

📚Book Club Session Report

English Students' Association of the University of Kashan successfully conducted its third Book Club session on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The session was dedicated to a critical examination of O. Henry's classic short story, "The Gift of the Magi." Under the moderation of Mobina Pournavaderyan, a B.A. student of English Literature, the gathering fostered a dynamic and engaging environment for literary analysis.

Participants identified the central theme of sacrifice, debating whether the protagonists' actions represented tragic or foolish missteps or the true essence of a gift, ultimately concluding that the narrative privileges sentimental value over material worth. Furthermore, the group examined the author's narrative voice and the metafictional commentary of the famous concluding paragraph, which presents the couple's actions as a lesson in the wisdom of selfless giving.

The atmosphere was thought-provoking, fulfilling the book club's aim of creating a welcoming space for literary appreciation and critical thinking in English. ESA looks forward to organizing more such events in the future.

📚گزارش جلسه کتاب‌خوانی

سومین جلسه از دور جدید سلسله جلسات کتاب‌خوانی انجمن علمی انگلیسی دانشگاه کاشان در روز سه‌شنبه ۲۰ آبان ماه ۱۴۰۴، همزمان با هجدهمین جشنواره درون‌دانشگاهی حرکت، برگزار شد. در این جلسه، به بررسی داستان کوتاه «ارمغان مغان» اثر او.‌‌ هنری پرداخته‌شد. این گردهمایی با مدیریت مبینا پورنوادریان، دانشجوی کارشناسی ادبیات انگلیسی، فضایی پویا و جذاب برای تحلیل ادبی فراهم آورد.

شرکت‌کنندگان با بررسی محوریت داستان به سوالاتی همچون «آیا تصمیمات شخصیت‌های داستان نسنجیده تلقی می‌شود؟»، «آیا نگرش و تصمیم‌گیری شخصیت‌ها می‌تواند نشان از حقیقتی پنهان در انتخاب یک "هدیه" باشد؟» پرداختند.

نهایتاً اعضاء بر این باور بودند که ارزش و معنای حقیقی بر دارایی‌های دنیوی برتری دارد. در ادامه، اعضای گروه به بررسی نحوه‌ی روایت‌گری نویسنده و تفسیر بند پایانی و مشهور داستان پرداختند که اقدامات زوج داستان را به عنوان نمونه‌ای از "بخشش آگاهانه" عنوان می‌کند.

این جلسه فضایی را فراهم ساخت که در آن شرکت‌کنندگان توانستند به ادبیات و تقویت تفکر انتقادی به زبان انگلیسی بپردازند. اعضای انجمن علمی انگلیسی مشتاقانه در انتظار برنامه‌ریزی برای رویدادهای آتی هستند.
