Facts about oral health

🧑Oral health is an important part of overall health and well-being.

🧑Oral health is a serious global health issue. According to the World Health Organization, 60-90% of school-aged children and nearly 100% of adults worldwide have had dental caries in their permanent teeth. It is estimated that oral diseases affect over 3.5 billion people and have been linked to an increase in systemic diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

🧑The clinical manifestations of oral health conditions can include tooth pain, changes in tooth color, gum inflammation and redness, mouth sores, bad breath, and loose teeth.

🧑The best way to prevent oral health conditions is to maintain a good oral hygiene routine. This includes brushing and flossing your teeth twice a day, avoiding sugary foods and drinks, and visiting your dentist for regular check-ups and professional cleanings. Additionally, you should quit smoking and avoid using any type of tobacco product to minimize your risk of developing oral health conditions.

🧑Oral health conditions can be treated with a variety of treatments, depending on the condition and its severity. Common treatments may include antibiotics or antiviral medications to treat infections, fluoride rinses and gels to fight cavities, and medications such as steroids to reduce inflammation. In some cases, removal of the affected tissue may be necessary. Your dentist will recommend the best treatment plan for your individual needs.
