You give students a sentence to repeat. Let them repeat it several times. Then you say one word that replaces (βsubstitutesβ) a word in the sentence. The students focus on the new word they have to use but actually practice their grammar.
Again you give students a sentence to repeat several times. Now you tell them to change the sentence to another tense or into a negative sentence or question.
