Part 1️⃣
Krashen’s Input Hypothesis 👀🧠

🔝 Krashen says language is acquired, not just learned.

We pick up a language when we 🧑‍🎓understand messages that are just a little above our current 💎level — he calls this➡️ i+1.

💬 When we’re exposed to enough language and communication is meaningful, this i+1 naturally happens.

➡️ Krashen 💪 strongly believes that comprehensible input is the main key to learning a language.

📌 He also makes an interesting point :

🗣speaking doesn’t need to be forced or directly👨‍🏫 taught ✍️.

📣 He even says talking to yourself doesn’t help much!
⬇️ Speaking comes after you get enough input — it’s not what causes learning.

That’s why he supports 🤫 a silent period at the beginning — just like 😘 kids who listen for📅 months before they start talking 👶🗣.

🍀 Do what is right, not what is easy nor what is popular.

کاری که درسته رو انجام بده، نه کاری که آسونه و نه چیزی که طرفدار زیادی داره.

📞🗣Talking more as a teacher
doesn't always mean effective teaching .
✔️ But when students talk more ,
that's when real learning happens .
So how can we📈 increase STT
( Student Talking Time )

🤩 3️⃣ Golden Tips : ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

1️⃣ Use Pair Work Activities:

Design short , focused pair tasks
like interviews or 🧐" find someone who ... "
🔼 Students talk to each other
not just to you .

2️⃣ Incorporate Role Plays:

Create fun , realistic scenarios
( like " Ordering 🍬food at a restaurant "or " Buying 🍿 movie tickets " )

💬When learners take on roles ,
they forget😮 fear and start speaking naturally .

3️⃣ Ask Open-Ended Questions

Instead of Yes / No questions , go for ones that need explanation .

Try : What would you do if you could teleport ?
🧠 More thinking = more speaking .

🎯 The goal
Less teacher talk , more student confidence .

👌 A quiet student isn't always a 🙈 shy one ,they might just need space to speak .

➡️Boost STT in your classroom ⬅️
