Activities for fast finishers😺


1️⃣)  “I Spy with My Grammar Eye”

Ask students to look around the classroom and note ten objects, adding specific features to strengthen descriptive vocabulary:

- A blue pencil case on the desk 
- A round clock above the whiteboard 
- A wooden bookshelf filled with colorful textbooks 
- A green plant in the corner 
- A soft cushion on the teacher’s chair 
- A red stapler next to a stack of papers 
- A silver laptop with a glowing logo 
- A pair of glasses on the windowsill 
- A white mug with a cat illustration 
- A striped rug under the table


Students can share their list in pairs or describe items using full sentences: 

💬“I can see a red stapler that is beside a stack of papers."

2️⃣) Unscramble the Words!
(Theme: Jobs 👩‍💻👨‍🏫)

Write jumbled job-related words on the board and ask students to rearrange the letters:

- RETACH → TEACHER
- RDOCOT → DOCTOR
- RENEGINE → ENGINEER
- LDOSIER → SOLDIER


You can make it a race or group challenge! 🏁

3️⃣) Word Grid Madness

Draw a 3×3 letter grid like this:

S  T  E 
A  R  P 
M  I  N


Challenge students to form as many words as possible, minimum 3 letters

Examples: step, pin, stamp, part, star, rain, spin, map


This builds spelling, vocabulary, and friendly competition! 🧠🥇

4️⃣) A-Z Challenge
(Theme: Animals 🦁🐢🦋)

Students write one animal name for each letter of the alphabet. You can let them work in pairs or small groups

Here’s a sample start:
- A – Antelope 
- B – Bear 
- C – Cat 
- D – Dolphin 
...up to Z – Zebra


You can set a timer , or even create a colorful classroom poster from their ideas!

5️⃣) Sentence Scramble (Grammar: Present Perfect & Jobs 🎓)

Write 3–5 jumbled sentences on the board that students need to reorder.

1. been / has / he / a / soldier / five / for / years 
   👉 He has been a soldier for five years.

2. the / teacher / taught / many / students / has 
   👉 The teacher has taught many students.

3. animals / loves / she / wild / watching 
   👉 She loves watching wild animals


Great for reinforcing grammar, sentence structure, and key vocabulary from the topic.
