🎨🎨 Fun Classroom Activity: Listen and Draw πŸ—£βœοΈ

βœ¨πŸŽ‰ Looking for a simple yet engaging speaking activity for your CEFR A2 students? This one is perfect for practicing prepositions of place and giving clear instructions! Works great with both adults and teenagers! 🌟

πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

πŸ›  Preparation πŸ›
πŸ“Œ Start by reviewing these incomplete phrases with your students:
- _… the top_
- _… the bottom_
- _… the left_
- _… the right_
- _… the middle_
- _… the corner_

πŸ–‹ Ask students to copy and complete them with the correct prepositions:
- at the top, at the bottom
- on the left, on the right
- in the middle, in the corner

πŸ“Œ Next, add these phrases to the board:
- _… the top right_
- _… the bottom left corner_

❓ Encourage students to guess the missing prepositions:
- **in the top right, in the bottom left corner**

πŸ“Œ Finally, draw these shapes and lines on the board to build vocabulary:
- πŸ”΅ Circle | ◼️ Square | πŸ”Ί Triangle | ⬛️ Rectangle | πŸ₯š Oval
- βž– Straight line | βšͺ️βšͺ️βšͺ️ Dotted line | --- Broken line | ~~~ Wavy line | ⚑️ Zigzag line

Label them with the students and give them time to take notes. πŸ“š

πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

🎯 Procedure 🎯

1️⃣ Demonstration :
- Draw two big squares (frames) on the board.
- Create a simple design with shapes and lines in one square. 🎨
- Explain that students will guide you to recreate the design in the second square without looking at the first one. πŸ‘€βŒ

2️⃣ Interactive Practice :
- Take instructions from students (e.g., "Draw a big circle in the middle").
- Follow their guidance, and if instructions are unclear, draw it wrong to encourage clarification. πŸ—£βœοΈ

3️⃣ Pair Work :
- Students create their own designs in notebooks (3 minutes). ⏳
- Put them into pairs (A and B):
- A describes their design while B draws itβ€”without seeing the original!
- Allow students to use their notes on prepositions and vocabulary.

✨ Extension Activity ✨

πŸ“ Ask students to write a description of their original design in their notebooks.
βœ… Exchange notebooks with their partner and correct each other’s writing.

This activity combines communication, creativity, and fun for a truly memorable lesson! ✍️🌈

✨ Plan Your 2025 Productively! ✨

If you really want to make the most out of 2025, you’re in the right place! πŸ€—

Previously, I talked about Time Management Techniques using the Time Matrix. ⏳
Today, I’m excited to share another handy tool: Action Priority Matrix (APM). πŸ—‚

πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

πŸ“Œ Why APM?
To-do lists are great, but many of us still struggle with figuring out what to tackle first. This can lead to:
- ❌ Feeling overwhelmed
- ❌ Missing deadlines
- ❌ Losing sight of important tasks

The Action Priority Matrix breaks tasks into four quadrants, helping you work *smarter*, not harder:

1️⃣ Quick Wins (High Impact, Low Effort)
2️⃣ Major Projects (High Impact, High Effort)
3️⃣ Fill-Ins (Low Impact, Low Effort)
4️⃣ Thankless Tasks (Low Impact, High Effort)

πŸ–Ό Check out the image attached for a visual overview.

πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

πŸ’‘ How to Use APM :

πŸ”Ήβž‘οΈ Quick Wins 🌟
Tasks that require minimal effort but provide big results. Examples:
- Updating slides πŸ“Š
- Adding student FAQs to new TKT materials πŸ“š

πŸ”Ή ➑️Major Projects πŸš€
Time-intensive tasks that have a significant impact. Examples:
- Designing new courses πŸŽ¨πŸ–Ό
- Creating comprehensive study materials ✍️

πŸ”Ήβž‘οΈ Fill-Ins πŸ’«β°
Smaller, less critical tasks you can do between bigger projects. Examples:
- Handling quick admin inquiries if nobody else is available πŸ’¬

πŸ”Ήβž‘οΈ Thankless Tasks βš™οΈ
Low-priority tasks that take too much effort. Reevaluate them! Examples:
- Repeated or unnecessary tasks that drain your energy ⏳

πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

πŸ› βž‘οΈ Steps to Take Action with APM
1. πŸ“ Write down your to-do list.
2. 🎯 Rate each task’s impact and effort.
3. πŸ“Š Place tasks into their appropriate APM quadrant.
4. βœ… Take actionβ€”priorities first!

πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

πŸ’¬βž‘οΈ Personal Experience
I’ve always used the Time Management Matrix and standard to-do lists, but using the APM for the first time was a game-changer. It worked so well that I had to share it with all of you! 🌟

πŸ”΄πŸ”΄πŸ”΄Remember: No tool works if you’re not organized.
If you don’t manage your time, it will manage you. 😌🟠🟠🟠

⭐️Feel free to share this postβ€”but please don’t copy it. Helping each other learn benefits everyone. πŸ’‘

πŸ’πŸ’ Have you tried APM or any other time management techniques? Let me know in the comments!
