🎨🎨 Fun Classroom Activity: Listen and Draw 🗣✏️

🎉 Looking for a simple yet engaging speaking activity for your CEFR A2 students? This one is perfect for practicing prepositions of place and giving clear instructions! Works great with both adults and teenagers! 🌟

🛠 Preparation 🛠
📌 Start by reviewing these incomplete phrases with your students:
- _… the top_
- _… the bottom_
- _… the left_
- _… the right_
- _… the middle_
- _… the corner_

🖋 Ask students to copy and complete them with the correct prepositions:
- at the top, at the bottom
- on the left, on the right
- in the middle, in the corner

📌 Next, add these phrases to the board:
- _… the top right_
- _… the bottom left corner_

Encourage students to guess the missing prepositions:
- **in the top right, in the bottom left corner**

📌 Finally, draw these shapes and lines on the board to build vocabulary:
- 🔵 Circle | ◼️ Square | 🔺 Triangle | ⬛️ Rectangle | 🥚 Oval
- Straight line | ⚪️⚪️⚪️ Dotted line | --- Broken line | ~~~ Wavy line | ⚡️ Zigzag line

Label them with the students and give them time to take notes. 📚

🎯 Procedure 🎯

1️⃣ Demonstration :
- Draw two big squares (frames) on the board.
- Create a simple design with shapes and lines in one square. 🎨
- Explain that students will guide you to recreate the design in the second square without looking at the first one. 👀

2️⃣ Interactive Practice :
- Take instructions from students (e.g., "Draw a big circle in the middle").
- Follow their guidance, and if instructions are unclear, draw it wrong to encourage clarification. 🗣✏️

3️⃣ Pair Work :
- Students create their own designs in notebooks (3 minutes).
- Put them into pairs (A and B):
- A describes their design while B draws it—without seeing the original!
- Allow students to use their notes on prepositions and vocabulary.

Plan Your 2025 Productively!

If you really want to make the most out of 2025, you’re in the right place! 🤗

Previously, I talked about Time Management Techniques using the Time Matrix.
Today, I’m excited to share another handy tool: Action Priority Matrix (APM). 🗂

📌 Why APM?
To-do lists are great, but many of us still struggle with figuring out what to tackle first. This can lead to:
- Feeling overwhelmed
- Missing deadlines
- Losing sight of important tasks

The Action Priority Matrix breaks tasks into four quadrants, helping you work *smarter*, not harder:

1️⃣ Quick Wins (High Impact, Low Effort)
2️⃣ Major Projects (High Impact, High Effort)
3️⃣ Fill-Ins (Low Impact, Low Effort)
4️⃣ Thankless Tasks (Low Impact, High Effort)

💡 How to Use APM :

🔹➡️ Quick Wins 🌟
Tasks that require minimal effort but provide big results. Examples:
- Updating slides 📊
- Adding student FAQs to new TKT materials 📚

🔹 ➡️Major Projects 🚀
Time-intensive tasks that have a significant impact. Examples:
- Designing new courses 🎨🖼
- Creating comprehensive study materials ✍️

🔹➡️ Fill-Ins 💫
Smaller, less critical tasks you can do between bigger projects. Examples:
- Handling quick admin inquiries if nobody else is available 💬

🔹➡️ Thankless Tasks ⚙️
Low-priority tasks that take too much effort. Reevaluate them! Examples:
- Repeated or unnecessary tasks that drain your energy

1. 📝 Write down your to-do list.
2. 🎯 Rate each task’s impact and effort.
3. 📊 Place tasks into their appropriate APM quadrant.
4. Take action—priorities first!

I’ve always used the Time Management Matrix and standard to-do lists, but using the APM for the first time was a game-changer. It worked so well that I had to share it with all of you! 🌟
