The river is in love with the ocean.

She leaves the mountains with only one dream. To reach the sea one day.

On her journey, she gives water to forests, brings life to fields, fills the air with the songs of birds, and quenches the thirst of humanity.

In return, people give her their garbage.

They believe the river keeps flowing, so she will carry away all their waste.

Silently, she accepts it all. Their trash, their ashes, their pollution, and even their sorrow.

But now the burden has become too heavy.

People wash away their sins in the river. But where can the river wash away hers? There is no other river waiting to cleanse her.

One day, while searching for my own thirsty soul, I went to the river. But I could not drink her water. I could not even see my reflection in it.

Instead, I saw the reflection of our own crimes.

The river had become dark and silent.

Even today, she still longs to reach the ocean, just as she did when she first descended from the mountains like a graceful serpent.

But now she is afraid.

She fears that one day the ocean may become like her.

Humanity has progressed so much that it rose from being an animal to becoming a human. Yet animals do not pollute rivers.

Humans do.

If we think we are saving the river, then perhaps we still have not understood the truth.

Saving a river is not about saving water.

Saving a river is about saving ourselves.
