🇪🇬🇱🇾 Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty visited Tripoli yesterday, marking the first visit by an Egyptian top diplomat to the Libyan capital since October 2021. The visit signals a renewed Egyptian push to strengthen ties with Tripoli and western Libya, coming shortly after the eastern-based parliament ratified the maritime agreement with Turkey last month. During his meeting with Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Dbeibeh reaffirmed Tripoli’s commitment to addressing Cairo’s concerns over the maritime agreement with Turkey, confirming that consultations on the relevant maritime maps would continue. He stressed that Libya has no intention of undermining Egypt’s interests in the Eastern Mediterranean and remains committed to reaching a mutually acceptable understanding with Cairo.
