To all our valued and outstanding EDMARKERS and EDCOINERS,

Outstanding day to you.

We are pleased to share with you that with the advent of the whiteBIT exchange which supports the EDC/USDT pair, we can finally phase out the EDEXCHANGE (EDEX) as it no longer serves its original purpose well.

By phasing out EDEX, we are able to better streamline our EDCOIN initiatives and this will help alleviate certain longstanding challenges on deposit and withdrawals, especially in the light of expensive ETH/GAS/GWEI fees when interacting with anything related to an ERC-20 token. (The expensive ETH/GAS/GWEI fees also do pose challenges for our users on UNISWAP.) Of particular note, withdrawal fees are severely impacted whenever ETHEREUM prices reach new All-time-highs (ATH) and this amplifies issues further.

EFFECTIVE 1st MARCH 2021
Effective 01 March 2021, the Management of EDEXCHANGE (EDEX) will:
1) Halt deposits and
2) Halt all trading activities.

BALANCES IN YOUR EDEX WALLET
Users who have balances in their wallets are advised to immediately place their withdrawal requests BEFORE 1st March, 2021 which is the designated phase out date so that EDEX Admin will be able to have sufficient time to approve your withdrawals. All ERC-20 tokens in Trust Wallet require ETH/GAS/Gwei as transaction fees.

Whenever the ETHEREUM blockchain is congested, especially when the price of ETH is high, the cost of transactions for ALL ERC-20 tokens increases.

Ethereum’s high gas fees and your Trust Wallet

All ERC-20 tokens in Trust Wallet require ETH/GAS/Gwei as transaction fees.

Whenever the ETHEREUM blockchain is congested, especially when the price of ETH is high, the cost of transactions for ALL ERC-20 tokens increases.

This includes EDC (Edcoin) which is an ERC-20 token, too.

EDC & Trust Wallet
In order to transfer EDC from your Trust Wallet to any other exchange or any other wallet, you would need to have sufficient ETH/GAS/Gwei deposited in your Trust Wallet to effect that transfer.

If you DO NOT have sufficient ETH/GAS/Gwei, you will NOT be able to transfer EDC out of your Trust Wallet.

Whenever the ETHEREUM blockchain is congested, especially when the price of ETH is high, the cost of transactions for ALL ERC-20 tokens increases.

It is advisable to NOT transfer your EDC out of your Trust Wallet until the ETH/GAS/Gwei fees drop to a level that is practical for you.

When the ETH/GAS/Gwei fees are high, only those who have large quantities of EDC will find it worthwhile to pay the fees to move EDC from the Trust Wallet to say, whiteBIT, as an example.

This is a global phenomenon.

MARKETPLACE TRANSACTION FEE UPDATE | EDCOIN & EDPOINTS

Outstanding day to all EDCOINERS.

As you may be aware, we recently burned 100,000,000 EDCOIN (EDC) to improve the tokenomics of EDCOIN as we continue to build the EDCOIN eco-system. We also listed EDC on the whiteBIT exchange to alleviate the expensive fees and complexity of trading on Uniswap. There will be further significant developments coming up for the EDCOIN community that will increase the demand for EDC including a listing on a significant coin market aggregator.

However, inasmuch as we are doing everything to grow the eco-system sustainably, we have to reckon with global developments on the ETHEREUM (ETH) blockchain.

HIGH GAS FEES
The transaction fees in ETH/GAS/GWEI for all transactions for ETHEREUM and ERC-20-based tokens are sky rocketing of late due to the successful and large scale adoption of the ETHEREUM blockchain and the rise of decentralized finance (DEFI) which impacts congestion and thus the transaction fees. This global phenomenon affects all exchanges - both centralized and decentralized (like UNISWAP) - and all wallets that interact with ETHEREUM and ERC-20 tokens. This of course, impacts MARKETPLACE, too.

EDC is an ERC-20 token
EDCOIN (EDC) is an ERC-20 utility token and it is not immune from the increasing prices in ETH/GAS/GWEI transaction fees.

TRANSACTION FEE UPDATE
For the longest time, the fees for swapping EDCOIN and EDPOINTS on MARKETPLACE have been heavily subsidized by the EDCOIN FOUNDATION. However, it has come to a point where it is difficult to continue with the subsidy.

Thus, with effect from 18th FEBRUARY, 2021, the fees for EDC-EDPOINT SWAPS on MARKETPLACE will be 80 EDC (previously 5 EDC) and withdrawals from MARKETPLACE will be 120 EDC (previously 5 EDC).

We are cognizant that these are large increases in fees. We are also cognizant that for hodlers of EDC who have small quantities of EDC, these fees are even more significant. We do truly emphatise with you. Do rest assured that the moment the ETH/GAS/GWEI fees normalize back to down-to-earth levels, the transaction fees on MARKETPLACE will also be revised down accordingly.

However, please be prepared for a sustained period of high transaction fees on the ETHEREUM blockchain as ETH prices continue to test and set new All-Time-Highs (ATH).

We seek your kind patience to accompany us in coping with the unusually high ETH/GAS/GWEI fees and we thank you for your kind understanding.
