π What identifier is assigned to a specific mining worker?
πWorker ID
A Worker ID is a unique identifier assigned to each mining device connected to your mining pool account. It allows the pool to distinguish between individual miners, track each device's hashrate, monitor its status, count submitted shares, and display detailed performance statistics. If you operate multiple ASIC miners, a Worker ID makes it easy to identify which machine is running properly and which one may require attention.

Itβs Monday again, so hereβs our weekly digest of key events in the crypto market. Letβs take a look at what happened over the past week.
πΉPublic companies are starting to abandon their Bitcoin accumulation strategy. According to the Head of Digital Assets at VanEck, falling share prices, debt obligations, and challenging market conditions are forcing many publicly traded companies to sell part of their Bitcoin holdings.
πΉ Grayscale believes Bitcoin may have already found its bottom. In its latest report, the company suggests that if the U.S. Federal Reserve pauses further interest rate hikes and the economy remains resilient, Bitcoin could already be at the beginning of a new upward trend.
πΉ Strategy launches the Bitcoin Security Consortium. The initiative's partners plan to invest $15 million over the next three years to strengthen the long-term security and resilience of the Bitcoin network.
πΉ $68,000 identified as the next major resistance level. According to Bitfinex analysts, cited by The Block, this price zone aligns with both the average entry price of short-term holders over the past five months and the opening level of the second quarter. However, the first test of this level could trigger increased selling pressure as many investors may choose to exit at break-even.
πΉ Bitcoin whales continue accumulating. CryptoQuant contributor Amr Taha reports that large Bitcoin holders are increasing their positions, while medium-sized wallets are showing signs of selling, highlighting a growing divergence in market behavior.

π§ What is a miner that has stopped submitting shares called?
πDead Miner
A Dead Miner is a mining device that has stopped submitting valid shares to the mining pool. This usually happens because the miner has lost its internet connection, powered off, crashed, overheated, or encountered a hardware issue.
Mining pools continuously monitor workers and flag a miner as "dead" when it has been inactive for a certain period, helping users quickly identify and resolve problems.

A Hashrate Spike is a sudden increase in the total mining power (hashrate) of a miner, mining pool, or the entire Bitcoin network. It can happen when new mining equipment comes online, more miners join a pool, or previously offline devices reconnect. A hashrate spike may temporarily affect block discovery speed until the next difficulty adjustment.

π What happens when hardware slows down because it gets too hot?
πThermal Throttling
Thermal Throttling is a safety mechanism that automatically reduces a mining device's performance when its temperature becomes too high. By lowering the processing speed, the hardware generates less heat and helps prevent overheating, damage, or unexpected shutdowns. Proper cooling is essential to avoid thermal throttling and maintain stable mining performance.

Every transaction is permanently recorded on the blockchain β an open and publicly accessible ledger. Anyone can see when specific coins were mined, which wallet addresses they have passed through, and where they are held today.
βοΈ However, the blockchain does not display the names of owners β only wallet addresses. Unless someone voluntarily reveals their identity or a wallet is linked to a specific person, it is impossible to know who owns the funds.
This transparency is one of the key reasons why Bitcoin is considered one of the most secure and verifiable financial networks in the world.

Immersion Cooling is an advanced cooling method where mining hardware is fully submerged in a special non-conductive dielectric liquid. The liquid efficiently absorbs and removes heat, allowing miners to run at lower temperatures, reduce noise, improve energy efficiency, and extend the lifespan of their equipment. This technology is increasingly used in large-scale mining operations.

β‘οΈWhat metric shows how much energy is used per terahash?
πHashrate Efficiency (J/TH)
Hashrate Efficiency (J/TH) is a metric that measures how many joules of energy a mining device consumes to produce one terahash (TH) of computing power. The lower the J/TH value, the more energy-efficient the miner is. Since electricity is one of the biggest mining expenses, this metric is one of the most important factors when comparing ASIC miners.

Itβs Monday again, so hereβs our weekly digest of key events in the crypto market. Letβs take a look at what happened over the past week.
βͺοΈBitcoin miners have been advised not to buy GPUs solely for AI, but instead focus on infrastructure. Mike Alfred, founder of Alpine Fox, said he does not believe the AI infrastructure boom is a bubble. In his view, companies looking to diversify into AI face a key strategic choice: generate revenue by providing power and data center capacity, or take on the additional risk of investing in expensive GPUs.
βͺοΈThe share of low-carbon energy used in Bitcoin mining has exceeded 59%. For the first time, hydropower has surpassed natural gas to become the single largest energy source powering the Bitcoin network.
βͺοΈCoinbase reported a 16% decline in revenue and a net loss of $359 million. The largest U.S. cryptocurrency exchange continues to feel the effects of the prolonged crypto downturn, with its stock down 40% year-to-date.

According to analysts, between 3 and 4 million BTC are believed to be permanently lost. Their owners forgot passwords, lost private keys, or misplaced hard drives containing their wallets.
βοΈAs a result, the amount of Bitcoin actually available is significantly lower than the maximum supply of 21 million BTC.
This means that every lost Bitcoin makes the remaining coins even more scarce.
What do you think?
π§ Should lost BTC still be counted as part of Bitcoin's total supply, or should they be excluded from the effective circulating supply?

Itβs Monday again, so hereβs our weekly digest of key events in the crypto market. Letβs take a look at what happened over the past week.
πΉ A user decided to sell βfreeβ coins received after a fork and accidentally sold real Bitcoin. Developer Kevin Loak warned about the risks of BIP-110: a transaction involving fork tokens can be replayed on the main network, allowing an equivalent amount of BTC to be spent from the same address.
πΉ Glassnode recorded an unprecedentedly long Bitcoin capitulation phase. The composite indicator based on 45 on-chain metrics for the leading cryptocurrency has remained in the capitulation phase longer than at any point since the collapse of the FTX exchange.
πΉ CryptoQuant pointed to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP accumulation by whales. Large holders of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP are increasing their positions amid price pressure. The balance of Bitcoin whales (excluding exchanges and mining pools) has risen to approximately 3.06 million BTC, up from a low of around 2.87 million BTC in December 2025.

π€ Did you know that Bitcoin miners can turn waste into money?
Some mining companies use methane from landfills and oil fields: instead of simply burning it or releasing the gas into the atmosphere, they use it to generate electricity that powers ASIC miners.
It literally works like this: waste β energy β Bitcoin.

Itβs Monday again, so hereβs our weekly digest of key events in the crypto market. Letβs take a look at what happened over the past week.
πΉ A mining farm employee decided to do a little mining for himself. In 2021, he allegedly redirected around 100 of his employerβs computers to his own mining pool without permission and withdrew 1.067 BTC, worth $53,315 at the time. He now faces up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
πΉ Bitcoin minersβ revenue from transaction fees has fallen to its lowest level in 10 years.
πΉ Public Bitcoin mining companies continue to shift computing capacity toward AI. Over the past nine months, their combined hashrate, excluding Bitdeer, has declined by 21.2%. For some companies, data center operations are already generating more revenue than cryptocurrency mining.
πΉ Plan B Network Director Giacomo Zucco believes the failure of BIP-110 demonstrated the resilience of Bitcoinβs consensus. According to him, the upgrade process ultimately became too centralized around a single individual.
We'll be back soon with more updates β until then, stay tuned!

You donβt have to own a whole BTC to be a Bitcoin holder. Each Bitcoin is divided into 100,000,000 satoshis (sats) β the smallest unit of the worldβs first cryptocurrency. That means:
πΉ 1 BTC = 100,000,000 sats
πΉ 0.01 BTC = 1,000,000 sats
πΉ 0.00000001 BTC = 1 sat
The name βsatoshiβ comes from Bitcoinβs creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
So even if the price of a whole BTC seems huge, you can start accumulating Bitcoin with just a small fraction of a coin.
