🌍 What is BRICS? (Static GK)
Establishment: The group held its first formal summit in 2009 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
Key Institution: The New Development Bank (NDB), headquartered in Shanghai, China.
Original Members (2009): Brazil, Russia, India, China (BRIC).
First Expansion (2010): South Africa joined, making it BRICS.
📈 New Membership Structure (11 Nations Total)
BRICS has seen massive expansion recently, making it a hot topic for current affairs.
2024 Additions: Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates joined as full members.
2025 Addition: Indonesia formally became a full member.
