Iaidō (居合道), abbreviated with iai (居合), is a Japanese martial art that emphasizes being aware and capable of quickly drawing the sword and responding to a sudden attack.
Iaido consists of four main components: the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard (or saya), striking or cutting an opponent, removing blood from the blade, and then replacing the sword in the scabbard. While beginning practitioners of iaido may start learning with a wooden sword (bokken) depending on the teaching style of a particular instructor, most of the practitioners use the blunt edged sword, called iaitō. Few, more experienced, iaido practitioners use a sharp edged sword (shinken).
Practitioners of iaido are often referred to as iaidoka.

Shitō-ryū is a combination of 4 main karate systems (Shurite, Nahate, Tomarite and Hakkaku Ken “Crane Fist”), which attempts to unite the diverse roots of karate. On one hand, Shitō-ryū has the physical strength and long powerful stances of Shuri-te derived styles, such as Shorin-ryū, on the other hand Shitō-ryū has circular and eight-directional movements, breathing power, hard and soft characteristics of Naha-te and Tomari-te (泊手) styles, such as Gōjū-ryū (剛柔流) Also has the major and popular techniques of Crane Fist such as Nipaipo, Papuren, Haffa and in its official syllabuses. Shitō-ryū is extremely fast (Speed=D/T), but still can be artistic and powerful. In addition, Shitō-ryū formalizes and emphasizes the five rules of defense, developed by Kenwa Mabuni, and known as Uke no go gensoku (受けの五原則), Uke no go genri (受けの五原理) or Uke no go ho (受けの五法).

Papuren (八 步 連) Kata

Papuren (八 步 連) (also pronounce Happoren or Paipuren means “Eight steps at the same time”) is a kata of karate which was introduced by a White Crane Kung fu expert in the island of Okinawa from master Wu Xian Hui “Go Genki”. Master Kenwa Mabuni learned 3 katas (Papuren, Nipaipo and Haffa) from Master Go Kenki and modified and simplified them and added to his Shitoryu Syllabus.
