A few years in DeFi teaches you something most people don’t like to admit:
DeFi isn’t hard because the tech is broken.
It’s hard because using it feels like work.
Not the good kind of work either...
the kind where you have 12 tabs open, three wallets connected, gas estimates changing every 10 seconds, and you’re constantly thinking,
“If I click the wrong thing, I might mess this up.”
I’ve been in this space long enough to be comfortable with that chaos, but most people aren’t.
And they shouldn’t have to be.
That’s the part we often ignore.
We keep saying “DeFi is the future,” yet the experience still feels stitched together.
Dashboards everywhere.
Parameters everywhere.
Manual steps everywhere.
And when AI started entering crypto, I thought: okay, this is where things finally get simpler.
But honestly?
Most AI tools today just added another layer… without removing any friction.
Yes, they analyze!
Yes, they summarize!
They answer questions.
But they don’t help you move.
So the burden is still on the user to connect tools, interpret outputs, manage risk, and execute correctly.
Here’s how I currently see the problem:

Multichain environments, wallets, bridges, gas, LPs, position management.... the UX is still designed for power users.
AI in crypto is fragmented
Every tool does one thing well, but users still have to stitch everything together manually.
So even with AI, the experience hasn’t fundamentally changed.
That’s why I paused when I started exploring PlutonAIHQ
Not because of hype.
But because of how they’re thinking about interaction.
They’re not positioning AI as another dashboard.
They’re positioning it as the interface itself.
PlutonAI is building what they describe as a conversational DeFAI layer...
where chat becomes the UX, and AI Agents act as guides inside DeFi.
Instead of bouncing between protocols, docs, dashboards, and tools, the idea is simple:
You explain your goal in plain language.
AI Agents help you understand, coordinate, and navigate the system.
Chat as the interface.
Agents as the abstraction layer.
That framing matters.
