It’s spring, dandelions are the bees first food. This bee is dead from weed killer spread on what we see as weeds, but what nature sees as food. Please don’t spray for weeds until you see the blackberries blooming. In this area, weeds, flowers and fruit trees are bees only source of food until middle of June. There are FAR more weeds than flowers or fruit trees, so it's their only food source. No bees, no food crops for us and we all starve.

This is the divisive part of Harrison Butker's commencement speech at Benedictine College. This is the hot take.
FIRST, if you are upset, I want you to listen to the speech. The WHoLe THING. Not just PART of it. NOT just a HEADLINE, or a snippet. The whole speech.
Because I heard Harrison Butker say that many women will go on to have great careers, AND many of them are likely excited about being a wife and mother. Both. Both can be true. He said that.
The man then wept on stage talking about how well his wife cares for him and their children. He cherished her contributions to their family.
Because being a mom and wife IS the most important part of my life.
In a society that has seen multiple NFL players arrested for domestic abuse, it's absolutely bonkers to me that we're vilifying the man who stood up and said something like, "honor your spouse's unique qualities as a homemaker."
Harrison Butker is a Catholic man. Speaking at a Catholic university. To Catholic students. Espousing Catholic ideas that women are central to the home.
He didn't say women can't or shouldn't work. He didn't say women are lesser or "belong in the kitchen."
He said women are special and unique.
The homemakers.

We are writing to let you know that there has been a change in the Kaiser Permanente COVID-19 Vaccination for KP Workforce Members Policy that may impact you. As you may recall, the federal government and various state and local entities required COVID-19 vaccinations for healthcare workers during the pandemic. Consistent with the government-mandated COVID-19 vaccine laws, and as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of Kaiser Permanente members, patients, and employees, many of whom were at high-risk from COVID-19, in 2021 Kaiser Permanente implemented a Vaccine Policy. The Vaccine Policy required, as a condition of employment, that employees must either submit proof that they were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any applicable boosters), or receive an approved exemption, by the specified timeline.
Due to changes in the federal, state and local vaccine requirements or recommendations, among other reasons, the Vaccine Policy has been revised effective Feb 1, 2024.
Specifically, vaccination against COVID-19 is no longer required as a condition of employment. While COVID-19 vaccination will not be a requirement of working at KP, employees will be required to annually verify their COVID-19 vaccination status.
We understand that your employment may have ended at Kaiser Permanente because of your non-compliance with the Vaccine Policy.
