The Duhare were a tribe of "Native Americans" met by 16th century Spanish explorers and described in several accounts as tall, fair-eyed, light-skinned people who painted themselves and grew out their beards which were often red or reddish-brown. They lived in a distinct ethnic society from the surrounding indigenous neighbors and were notably more advanced, building for themselves stone huts and cottages with actual stone foundations. "Duhare" was their own name for themselves that they communicated to the Spaniards, but this translates from Irish Gaelic ("du'hAire") to "Place of the Irish". Of course modern historians have gone above and beyond to debunk these old Spanish accounts.
