I knew about this last night but it wasn't approved for publication yet. A 19 year old IDF combat soldier from Be'er Sheva, named Sergeant Eitan Pichman, was killed las night after being injured during a tank exercise in northern Israel.

During a company exercise in the "Nafach" Training Zone, the soldier sustained a severe head injury. After extensive resuscitation efforts, the soldier passed away.

For us Sefaradi Jews the period of Slichot has started this week and will be every night after midnight until Yom Kippur in over a month's time. Slichot are Jewish penitential poems and prayers said in the period leading up to Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. The Thirteen Attributes of Mercy are a central theme throughout these prayers.

Yesterday I posted about an IDF and elite police arrest operation in Silwad of 2 wanted terrorists. Well during the operation one of them escaped when he saw the IDF coming but was eventually caught after a chase by this team. Their dog got him. See the post here.
