Just before the IDF Golani swearing in ceremony at the Western Wall in Jerusalem that I posted about yesterday, religious IDF combat soldiers performed a "Siyum Masechet" (a ceremony when we complete a tractate of Gemara from the Talmud).

This was the post:

Israeli female basketball team played a first time historic friendly match in Morocco against the Moroccan female team. The match was in order to develop sports exchanges since our peace agreements with them.

It was played out in front of invited guests only. The Moroccans won the match, 62-58.

Amazing pic of the new elite IDF Multidimensional Unit known as Unit 888 β€œRefaim” or the Ghost unit.

The unit was established in 2019 by Israeli Chief of Staff Aviv Kokhavi, for battle on the battlefield of the future. The unit operates in all battle arenas to detect, attack and destroy the enemy in all theaters of operation and in all domains, combining the capabilities of infantry, engineering, anti-tank warfare, air and Intelligence all into one Special Operations Force.

Units 888s operators go through physical, mental and overall characteristics selection before starting training. Training consists of learning the art of combat while enduring an extremely physical and mental challenge of 14–16 months which not all participants make it through. The operators that successfully complete testing continue their service participating in classified operations of multiple types, training and preparing for the next mission or war.

This is Molt Laka, a 19 year old Israeli who was previously rejected from joining an IDF combat unit due to his profile being too low. The reason it was low was due to him being over-weight, of course to join a combat unit one needs to be in physical shape beforehand.

Instead of taking the easy way out by giving up or whining on social media or contacting the media like people these days like to do, he decided to put himself through a pre-military preparatory school and they prepared him to the point that he was accepted recently into the IDF Tzanchanim (paratroopers) Brigade which is a serious combat unit.

This is why you never under-estimate yourself or take no for an answer if you want to do something, you find a way and that way isn't to whine and complain about it to the media, the way is to work your ass off to get to it.

Mazal tov brother!
