Today I went to visit the graves of 2 IDF soldiers who have no family at all here to visit them. They are buried in one of the cemeteries where I live. I said some prayers and also just wanted to be there to pay my respects as they have nobody left.
The first was Private Salim Sasson who was born in Iraq and immigrated to Israel in the early 50s then joined a youth movement in Hulda and became a farmer. He was drafted into the IDF in August 1956 . On January 28, 1958, he was killed in the line of duty near the Dan farm. He was 20 years old.
The second was Private Haim Kapon who was born in Macedonia and immigrated to Israel in 1949. He was drafted into the IDF in January 1953. On August 23, 1953, he was killed in the line of duty. He was 23 years old.
May their memory be a blessing and never forgotten.

On the occasion of Yom HaZikaron, members of the Israeli delegation to the Eurovision Song Contest visited the synagogue in Turin, Italy last night. Michael Ben-David sang "Avinu Malkeinu" in the synagogue which was restored after the war.

Amazing moment captured by Yael Shevach, the wife of the late Rabbi Raziel Shevach who was murdered in a terrorist attack in 2018.
A random IDF soldier of Ethiopian descent was saluting her husband's grave.
Yael wrote the following in her post: "I don't know who you are, saluting my husband's grave, but I love you!"
This is Am Yisrael!!!
May his memory be a blessing!

Amazing! My friend and CEO of the Nachal Haredi NPO (Netzach Yehuda), Yossi Levi, hosted a large ceremony last night for Yom HaZikaron which had over 1000 attendees and it was focused on and adapted for the Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) community.
Yossi and his org do amazing things.

A small glimpse at the large street party we had last night in the city I live in for Yom Haatzmaut. All the streets were closed to traffic around here, kids everywhere, live bands, food, fireworks, fun, etc...
We had loads of security everywhere and again we had the same security company who are all Arabs, these guys were from Jerusalem. I spoke to many of them, really good guys, was proud that they were keeping Jews safe all night. Many of their family members serve in the police or Magav. Kol HaKavod to them.
We had no bad incidents occurring at all.

Last night while we were all partying for Independence Day, many of our security forces were on duty protecting us so we can relax. This is just one scene of our undercover Mista'arvim unit making a surprise arrest in Shchem (Nablus) then speeding away with the arrested terrorist.
Kol HaKavod to our security forces for keeping us all safe!
