The body of deceased Israeli hostage, Ilan Weiss, was recovered and returned to Israel from Gaza

Ilan was a hero and was a member of the emergency squad at Kibbutz Be'eri. He was murdered on 7 October 2023 as he went out to defend the kibbutz and his body was kidnapped into Gaza

We are now in the period known as Slichot (forgiveness) whereby every morning around 4am (or after midnight for some people) we go to the synagogue and recite many prayers for forgiveness leading us up to Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur
