The Givati Brigade combat team began operations in the Abasan area in eastern Khan Yunis.
The soldiers are operating in Hamas infrastructure, eliminating dozens of terrorists and locating weapons and launchers.
As the soldiers entered one of the buildings, terrorists opened fire on them. The soldiers initiated contact, returned fire, and eliminated two terrorists who attempted to flee. In another building that was searched, which served as a medical laboratory in the Abasan area, a rocket launcher and a long-range rocket hidden inside a refrigerator were found.
The combat team's sniper units are operating to eliminate terrorists. In one instance, the snipers identified terrorists attempting to plant explosives near IDF soldiers, they then opened fire and eliminated the terrorists at a close-range.
