18 years ago 2 tragic events occurred in Israel.

1) Yelena Bosinova burnt herself to death in protest against the disengagement of Gush Katiff (in Gaza).

2) The disengagement of Gush Katiff took place. May it never happen again!

The video was the last group of girls to leave Gush Katiff, this was their last plea to stop. They are singing Tefila Le'ani (A prayer of the afflicted) - try not to cry while you watch it!

May Yelena's memory be for a blessing.

This song is by the Israeli singer called Narkis. It is about the disengagement from Gush Katif in Gaza, which is where she is from and after the disengagement many families were left broken and homeless, it was possibly the worst time in Israel's history.

There are still many homeless families after so many years, you can go visit them in shelters all over Israel such as the one in Ashdod or Nitzanim. I have trouble watching anything related to this painful time in our recent history but I will never hide from it and will continue to remind everyone who may have forgotten.

She slightly changed the words to the poem Im Nin'alu and then added her own words in the rest of the song. The people in the video are some who were kicked out of their homes in 2005/2006 during the disengagement.

Never again should something like this happen!
