Last week I posted about a 19 year old IDF soldier named Or Israelov z"l who was killed in a training accident.

Today his aunt, Miri Avrahami, attended what would have been his Masa Kumta (Beret March) to earn his beret in the Tzanchanim Brigade. She wrote a very emotional speech which she read out loud to Or's unit members.

She said: "Our Ori, Or Israelov, today we were supposed to meet all together, proud and excited about this event.

We had prepared, felt excited and we had been waiting to celebrate the moment you had been waiting for so long - receiving the red beret.

Everyone says how strong you were. Mother says that you were like Hercules, muscular and handsome. Father is broken but so proud, continues to look at you in pictures and speak about you with great pride.

You fought in a week of war and even when you were hurt and fell, you stood up and asked to get up and continue.

Our beloved Ori, I am here today alone with Adi, without our clan, it is difficult for them. I gathered my strength and I'm here for you my prince, standing here so proud and in so much pain to fulfill the end of your course for you. I'm here to hug your friends that you loved so much. Strengthen them for you, like you always did.

And for you young men, take care of yourselves in the future, with a huge smile like Or smiled and with lots of joy, like Or would want, and everywhere, throughout all your life, always remember to raise a glass to the life of Or!

There is a sun above me and it watches over you too, and a great light tells me to continue after you too.
