The 28 year old who was injured in the terrorist shooting attack today near Ofra, his name is Mordechai Gidon. He was shot in the arm and is in a moderate condition.

Minister of National Security, Ben Gvir, was cheered as he completed his speech today at the Yom HaHazikaron ceremony. Only some heckled him and caused issues.

Everyone in this room is Haredi (Ultra-Orthodox), most are in IDF uniform. They are the great soldiers of Netzach Yehuda who commemorated the memorial day siren at a ceremony.

Thanks to my friend Yossi Levi for all he does to bring Haredim into the IDF and to look after them too.

A bitter sweet moment for bereaved father Baruch Ben Yigal who lost his 21 year old son, Amit, while he was on an operation near Jenin in 2020.

Amit fell a month before the end of his national IDF service in Golani. He was the only son of his father. His parents separated when he was one years old and since then they raised him together in two separate homes. Baruch says: "This boy was my whole life, I had nothing but him. I was not interested in anything but him.

The sweet part is that Baruch announced in this video that he is having another baby and after a small celebration he went to the grave of his son to tell him. It is traumatic to watch I warn you.

Mazal tov Baruch and may the memory of Amit be for a blessing.

Many Haredim do not recognise nor commemorate Yom HaZikaron but thanks to Rabbi Menachem Bombach and many other Haredim that is all changing and has been changing for many years.

He is a teacher at Hamidrasha Hahasadit Yeshiva. Many years ago he went against the mainstream of Haredi thinking and decided to make a massive change to the students in his Yeshiva by teaching them about Yom HaZikaron but what a better way to teach than to not tell the students what to think but to rather let them decide for themselves.

I will state that the purpose of this post is not to criticise Haredim but rather to give credit where credit is due and to understand that it is a process that doesnt change over night. I will not tolerate any hate speech on this.
