Remembering our friend Ari Fuld - the lion of Israel, the lion of Judah, the lion of Zion.
Before Ari died, he used his last bit of life left in him to fulfill possibly one of the hardest Torah mitzot that there is.
The commandment of "Do not stand idly by the blood of your neighbor" which means that if someone's life is in danger of death, you are commanded to save them.
After being mortally stabbed from behind, he did whatever he could to make sure the terrorist didn't harm anyone around him, in fact he saved a woman's life in the process. He not only lived up to the mitzvah but also to his own words (in the pic).
It is not easy to do what he did, in fact most people wouldn't have reacted the way that he did considering how serious his injury was.
May his memory be for a blessing

Israeli singer, Narkis (ex-Gush Katiff resident), met with Michal Assoulin, the mother of Hodia Nechama Assoulin who when she was nearly 15 was badly injured in a terrorist bombing in 2011. She was in a coma for 6 years and died at age 21 in 2017.
Michal attended the official ceremony tonight for Yom HaZikaron and Narkis exited the stage to sing the end of her song next to her then sat down with her as she cried.
May the memory of Hodia be for a blessing!

The bereaved sister of the murdered brothers, Hallel and Yigal Yaniv, moved the audience at the Yom HaZikaron ceremony tonight by the kotel in Jerusalem:
She said: "My brothers were murdered, leaving a huge void in our hearts. We have not yet digested that they are not with us. Let us return and unite as one nation. When we are together, they will not be able to defeat us. Despite the price we paid, we continue to love the land, the army and the Land of Israel."

At a ceremony for the Magav fighters who died in the line of duty, a song was played with the voice of fallen Magav elite fighter, Barel Shmueli z"l, singing. 2 years ago Barel wanted to sing this song at a memorial day ceremony for fallen fighters and so he recorded himself singing and sent it to his commander.
His commander cannot show his face in videos but Barel got to sing at the memorial day ceremony even though he is not with us anymore. There was not a dry eye at the ceremony.
I met his commander last year as he is married to the sister of my nephew's wife. I posted about him here:

I went early to the military cemetery in my city to pay my respects to the soldiers who died while serving in the IDF and to pay respects to my wife's 2 cousins who were brothers who died while serving in the IDF, Shimon Mussai z"land Tzion Mussai z"l.
In an hour an a half this place is going to be packed for the ceremony and so I wouldn't get a chance to do this.
May their memories be for a blessing!
