The IDF Givati Brigade is celebrating it's 40th year of existence since it's re-establishment in 1983. It was first founded in 1947 but was dismantled in 1956, only to be re-established as a reserve brigade. The active-duty brigade was re-established in 1983 during the First Lebanon War.
As one of the first infantry brigades created, the Givati Brigade participated in many battles during the War of Independence.

Israelis doing incredible things for IDF soldiers.
A platoon of IDF soldiers in the 932nd Battalion of the Nahal Brigade went out for an evening meal together in Kiryat Shoma (north Israel) to a restaurant called Amigos Bar.
Towards the middle of the meal Yehuda, the owner, came to them and told them that the entire meal was all on his expense and that he would not accept any money from them.
He said "You dear soldiers guard us and it is the least we can do".
Next time you are in Kiryat Shemona pay a visit to Amigos Bar.
