In the US of A you mostly have to go to an event or place where they shoot the fireworks... In Holland they are already setting off fireworks as we speak.

For years it was customary that this was allowed from 10:00. But in 2014 this time was shifted to the beginning of the evening. Since then you are officially allowed to start setting off fireworks from 18:00, until 2:00 in the morning in the new year.

In April 2024, the municipality of Utrecht included in the general local regulation that the setting off of consumer fireworks is prohibited all year round, including New Year's Eve. There is no national fireworks ban, which means that the (sale) purchase of fireworks cannot be prohibited.

There are places where they collect all the wood/pallets and light a big fire. These 🔥are huge!
I have lived for years in Amsterdam North and near a place called Flora village, the name of a part of the city was lit the fire on New Year's Eve. These large fires are lit all over the Netherlands.
