Day 075 of Self Improvement

Today was another focused learning day. I spent most of my time studying React, especially practicing props, and it’s starting to make more sense and feel powerful.

I also spent almost 7 hours in the library, fully locked in. Now I’m switching gears to prepare for tomorrow’s mid exam (all-nighter mode activated 😅).

One thing I realized: I’m not contributing enough on GitHub. From now on, I need to start pushing my work consistently and building my public progress, not just learning in silence.

Day 076 of self improvement

Back after the mid exam — straight into building. Pulling an all-nighter with React to finish the project I couldn’t complete yesterday. I have to continue it and get the work done.

After that, the weekend will be fully committed to studying React state and hooks.
Time to level up.

It’s tempting to copy the people who are already "ahead."
You think if you do what they do, you’ll get what they have. But it doesn't work like that.
When you copy them, you lose yourself. You aren't becoming a success; you're becoming a shadow. Success isn't about being the best "them" rather It’s about being the first you.

Be yourself. It’s the only strategy that’s actually sustainable.

Have a great Day ❤️

Day 077 of self improvement

Today felt like one of those days where everything was telling me: “Just give up.”
My earpods stopped working, the lights went off, unexpected schedules showed up… everything became an excuse not to do the work.
But I remembered one thing: Do it anyway.
So I pushed through, managed my time somehow, and kept coding.
Worked on React class-based components. yeah, they’re pre-ES6 and kinda old, but they still matter for understanding legacy code and the core fundamentals.

That’s how Day 077 went.

Do it anyway.

We should Stop thinking:

“I’m trying to be consistent”

We should Start thinking:

“I’m someone who shows up every day no matter what”
That mindset shift changes everything.

Have a great Day ❤️

People really think working 8 or 10 hours a day is hard, and yeah, reading, coding, and doing stuff for that long does sound exhausting. But when you think about it, after graduation most people work at least 8 hours a day, and a lot of them still look for extra part-time jobs too.

So while we’re at gbi, we should realize how precious this time is. It’s time we’ll never get back, so it’s better to use it to work on ourselves.

the moral of the story አትቅበጡ😁

Day 078 of self improvement

Let me tell you something ..

Being an engineering student will suck your energy. Like literally drain you.

Yesterday (Monday), I had an exam… and believe it or not, it was just ONE question worth 30% 😁

But right after that fuc*ing exam, I got back to work i.e learning props and building a mini project using just props.

Own the decisions

Don’t outsource critical thinking to AI. Have it execute a plan, but don’t ask it to write the plan for you.

When you give away control, you’re the redundant part of the equation. And the result has nothing unique in it.

If you get it you get it 😅

Have a great Day ❤️

Day 079 of self improvement { Not Using AI challenge😢 }

A day that passed through confusions and some annoying bugs today I was Challenging my self like not using AI for debugging and and I refused to let the AI do heavy lifting ,
but it's really really hard and I wondered how peoples used Stack Overflow official documentation, and Google (without AI assistance like nowadays) and things like that before this AI era.

Anyway, I’m still learning Props and State in React. Still pushing through.

Knowing that if I keep going, one day it will pay off.
I don't know when, but I know that it will happen.
Or I'll die trying xD

This is not a random motivational speech but it is What I tell to My self everyday:

Don't stop.
Don't be shamed.
Don't be afraid to try.
Don't be afraid to fail.
Don't be afraid do all of the above things again and again.

Have a great Day ❤️

Day 080 of self improvement

Reviving after stressful exams and getting back to learning React (hooks).

But lemme tell you something… these past few days I wasted a lot of time just because of that “exam is finished” feeling. I thought I deserved to chill, but it went too far. I drained my energy scrolling on X, watching YouTube podcasts, hanging out with friends…
And after all that? I just felt regret. Blaming myself, overthinking, even doing unnecessary things like isolating myself.
So here’s the lesson:
staying busy with your goals is actually better. That “chill mode” can easily take over and keep extending itself, and before you know it, you’re spending more and more time just enjoying instead of building.

Not productive weekend fr 😑
If you’re a student and not using this yet, you’re seriously missing out.

Did you know your institutional email gives you up to 2TB of Google Drive storage? 🤯

I just found out it today and If you think about it, that’s roughly 136× more storage than a normal Google account.

Imagine the projects, backups, courses, videos… all in one place without worrying about space.
