You’ll see me dead before you see me hopeless, giving up, settling, or accepting that my goals aren’t achievable.

To every developer feeling stuck, you’re not behind, you’re building.

It’s hard, bugs, confusion, doubt. We’ve all been there. Growth is slow and messy, but it pays off later.

Don’t quit. Even senior devs started like this.
Keep showing up. You’re closer than you think

Have a great Day

Day 074 of self improvement

I was off coding for 1 week and was taking a break, celebrating the holiday in my homeland.

Since I’m a Deacon, I enjoyed the time and spent most of it especially in church, which I grew up in since I was 7 years old. I also spent good time with my childhood friends and family for the last 7 days and got good vibes. It’s been nearly 8 months since I started my journey and I hadn’t returned to my homeland since then, and I had missed my family so much, especially my mom. But now, I feel filled with new energy and amazing momentum to continue my journey again.

Right now I’m at Abrehot  studying React and some cool marketing topics. (I will share important points once I have finished.)

If you don't force yourself to improve.

Nothing in your life ever will.

Day 075 of Self Improvement

Today was another focused learning day. I spent most of my time studying React, especially practicing props, and it’s starting to make more sense and feel powerful.

I also spent almost 7 hours in the library, fully locked in. Now I’m switching gears to prepare for tomorrow’s mid exam (all-nighter mode activated 😅).

One thing I realized: I’m not contributing enough on GitHub. From now on, I need to start pushing my work consistently and building my public progress, not just learning in silence.

Day 076 of self improvement

Back after the mid exam — straight into building. Pulling an all-nighter with React to finish the project I couldn’t complete yesterday. I have to continue it and get the work done.

After that, the weekend will be fully committed to studying React state and hooks.
Time to level up.

It’s tempting to copy the people who are already "ahead."
You think if you do what they do, you’ll get what they have. But it doesn't work like that.
When you copy them, you lose yourself. You aren't becoming a success; you're becoming a shadow. Success isn't about being the best "them" rather It’s about being the first you.

Be yourself. It’s the only strategy that’s actually sustainable.

Have a great Day ❤️

Day 077 of self improvement

Today felt like one of those days where everything was telling me: “Just give up.”
My earpods stopped working, the lights went off, unexpected schedules showed up… everything became an excuse not to do the work.
But I remembered one thing: Do it anyway.
So I pushed through, managed my time somehow, and kept coding.
Worked on React class-based components. yeah, they’re pre-ES6 and kinda old, but they still matter for understanding legacy code and the core fundamentals.

That’s how Day 077 went.

Do it anyway.

We should Stop thinking:

“I’m trying to be consistent”

We should Start thinking:

“I’m someone who shows up every day no matter what”
That mindset shift changes everything.

Have a great Day ❤️

People really think working 8 or 10 hours a day is hard, and yeah, reading, coding, and doing stuff for that long does sound exhausting. But when you think about it, after graduation most people work at least 8 hours a day, and a lot of them still look for extra part-time jobs too.

So while we’re at gbi, we should realize how precious this time is. It’s time we’ll never get back, so it’s better to use it to work on ourselves.

the moral of the story አትቅበጡ😁

Day 078 of self improvement

Let me tell you something ..

Being an engineering student will suck your energy. Like literally drain you.

Yesterday (Monday), I had an exam… and believe it or not, it was just ONE question worth 30% 😁

But right after that fuc*ing exam, I got back to work i.e learning props and building a mini project using just props.
