FROM NASA: The 7 TON asteroid that exploded over northern Ohio around 9 am Tuesday released the power of 250 tons of TNT! The meteor was approximately 6 feet in diameter and was traveling at approximately 40,000 miles per hour. It entered the Earth's atmosphere over Lake Erie at an altitude of around 50 miles traveled 34 miles and exploded into a brilliant fragmentation about 30 miles above the earth over Medina county.
