I’m just going to put a warning on here for everyone and especially if your new to crypto and Lobstr wallets. I’ve had mine for years! Followed Whiplash and bought a lot of crypto through the years. I knew to NEVER give my “seed Phrase” or “private key”to anyone!
But about 3 weeks ago I did.
Why? Well this criminal was good at what he did.
First I got a call marked from Google. I answered it. The man said my accounts were being changed, Was it me? I said no. He said they had my DL no.
I hung up and a few minutes later Yahoo called ( they said- it wasn’t marked) I was already nervous so I answered. Same story basically. My email password was trying to be changed, from Frankfurt Germany. Was that me? Had I lost a passport or DL?
By this time I’m extremely nervous.
Then the next call came from a guy in California who claimed to work at Lobstr.
He said my wallet was in the process of being hacked. He said go look at your email. We’ve been trying to reach you! So I did. I searched Lobstr and there was 2 or more emails confirming what he just told me, saying they would call me and giving me the persons name who was supposedly calling me.
He assured me he would help me tho. I’m sending you a text that Is completely secure and I won’t be able to see it on my end. Enter your seed phrase and then you can create another one all on this secure text.
Since I was already extremely agitated by all the calls I had been getting about my identity being stolen etc. I fell for it. I wanted to save my wallet!
I put it in the text and hit send. Then I panicked! What had I just done?!
It didn’t take but a few minutes to find out as real messages from Lobstr appeared on my iPad! One after another fast as lightning he took anything he could trade for XLM and removed it to his wallet. I am one of the fortunate tho as he left as fast as he came and left my wallet open. I still had much crypto left. A little over 100 DOLLARS Worth.
The reason I’m writing this is so everyone knows don’t EVER give your SEED Phrase or private key TO ANYONE. GOD BLESS US ALL. 🩵
