The slackening of the thumbscrews, in my opinion, is the result of too many frogs noticing the bubbles forming in our pot (or a preventive measure against that).

They will torque them back down again soon, once enough NPCs meet the algorithmic metric of having had their attention spans lapse.

These tiny “victories,” or instances of the thumbscrews slackening, are stronger memories in the minds of many dissidents than the massive defeats. This is similar to how veterans remember their time in service. 90% of it can generally be characterized by suck, but the good times stand out so much that many have overall fond memories of their service.

So as long as they keep feeding us these baby “carrots” (this court overturning or blocking that mandate for a brief period, etc.), NPCs won’t remember the two-by-four “sticks” as strongly, and thus, the temperature can get closer to boiling next time before they have to throttle back. Ad infinitum.

I largely gave up video games when I had kids, although they are a pleasant distraction from time to time. I will likely never talk about games on this channel again. Here is my singular game recommendation for all fans of the old fantasy worlds, before anime, before bronies, before furries, before faggotry infested it.
