π‘Hey DeXers - security is everything. And that's why the new proposal just posted to our Snapshot is important for you to take a look at. It's for auditing the DeXe Protocol smart-contracts β which are, of course, the essential building blocks of any blockchain product. Strong independant audits now reduce the risk of exploits later.

π‘DeXe passes a security audit from Ambisafe
DeXe is happy to report that we passed the first of two planned audits from Ambisafe, a company that has audited some of the biggest organizations in blockchain.
πPer ambisafeβs findings:
βThere are no known compiler bugs for the specified compiler version (0.8.9), that might affect the contractsβ logic. There were 3 critical, 3 major, 14 minor, 32 informational and optimizational findings identified in the initial version of the contracts. All the minor and above severity findings were addressed and were not found in the final version of the code, while a few of the optimizations and notes remain acknowledged in favor of code readability and design choices.β
β You can read their full audit π here.
This first audit will be followed by a second, βdiffβ audit, which will evaluate the changes weβve made since submitting for their initial one.

β Hacken has completed their audit of DeXe Protocolβs smart-contracts. The audit was composed of several distinct audits, going back several months in order to account for new code coming in and to be as strict as possible. DeXe received top marks in each category of the audit:
βͺοΈDocumentation quality: 10 out of 10
βͺοΈCode quality: 10 out of 10
βͺοΈTest coverage: 100%
βͺοΈSecurity score: 10 out of 10

πThe earliest audit found 37 issues, 2 of them critical. The latest one found only 3 low-level issues, with 0 medium, high, or critical ones.

This comprehensive and lengthy audit is necessary to look at our smart-contract security from all the angles. Similarly, itβs important to submit to audits from multiple expert groups, with each using their own specialty tools and expertise to find even the slightest vulnerabilities.

βThere are just a few thoughts about how delegating dead votes of tokens stuck in DAO treasuries could change the governance system. Wonder if itβs possible to use token delegation to even out governance, to make it more fair and equitable.
βCan those dead token votes bring more stakeholders into the fold? Can it increase the effectiveness and amount of proposals? Can it prevent exploits and other issues from derailing the DAO? These are just some questions for the DAO community.

βWhat actually motivates DAO delegates?
One of the major differences between DAOs and other types of crypto projects where people can buy shares in the form of tokens is that DAO tokens give holders voting power in the DAO, which, of course, is why theyβre called governance tokens. But are they actually being used for voting?
πΊApparently, the current answer is a lot closer to No than to Yes. Unique voter turnout hovers around 7-20% of all tokens held, often dipping much lower.
Could delegating tokens to those who want to actively vote help? Unfortunately, delegation is coming up with the same shortfalls as voting in general. Around 55% of delegates across DAOs have never cast a vote.
Clearly, delegates are not currently motivated to vote. So what could motivate delegates to actively β and meaningfully β use the voting power delegated to them?
βοΈWe discuss delegate motivation in detail and ask some hard questions in the full article π here
