🇨🇳 On October 23, at the 31st meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress, the Law on the Land Borders of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Law) was adopted, which will officially enter into force on January 1, 2022.
The law consists of 7 chapters and 62 articles.
Main content of the law includes:
• Clarification of the leadership system, departmental responsibilities, military missions and local government responsibilities for work at land borders.
• Establishment and inspection of land borders.
• International cooperation in land border issues.
The state takes measures to:
• Ensuring the security of land borders, as well as the suppression of any actions detrimental to sovereignty.
• Improving public services and building infrastructure at the border;
increasing production and improving living conditions, encouraging and supporting the border.
The law clarifies that countries adhere to the principles of equality, mutual trust, and also resolve land borders and related issues through negotiations and resolve disputes and border issues that have developed historically.
China has always paid particular attention to its borders where it has tensions with many neighboring countries. Having passed the law, China seems to want to legalize it's aggression against Taiwan , India , Japan and its Southeast Asian neighbors in order to more easily resolve emerging issues at the border in its favor.
🇨🇳⚡The PRC has also asked that residents should produce and live on the border, contribute to the construction of border defenses, and develop the economy.
